I'm in the mood to do some debate some cars. So someone, anyone post two cars so we can get a debate going.

I'm just really bored and I'm in the debating mood.

The Chevy SS and RX-8.

The facts:
they look a lot alike.
The RX-8 design came out well before the SS's.

The questions
Which is better?

Discuss amongst yourselfs.
:D

Any car that's full 4WD

4X4 = 4 wheels, 4 powered wheels.
Essentially, that's it. But today cars are AWD, variable power transfered, not locked.
Does that help?

RX-8 looks much better than the chevy SS. The RX-8 is going to be out b4 the chevy ss. The chevy SS.....doesnt do much for me. The chevy SS....is a poor sports car replacement for the camaro (from what ive seen).

We could always debate one of the following things
- Why the BMW M5 is better than every other car.
- Why SUV's work properly and do what they should.
- Why Honda sucks.
- Why wasting gasoline is cool.
- Why the cupholders in my car don't work properly.

Doug, the answers to your questions:
-No it's not.
-Because they were designed to...'cept for that Montero, that has an extra fun cornering package on every version. :D
-Because they've morphed into cars for the "Save the earth" people, or the "We're unique, look at our Hondas, they all have the same Pepboy's parts" cult. Not to spite the new Accord's tail lights are upside down...
-Because it raises the price of gas for everyone else. Gets those Honda-driving, " Save the Earth" people pushing thier glasses up with thier finger and writing letters with the pens they take out of thier pocket protectors to the SUV makers.
-Cause either you are a major Bozo and don't know how to use the cup holders, or the cupholders are made in a 3rd world nation by some 5 yr old kids sold to Audi(if you are talking about the A4)by thier parents.

Next?

Are the cupholders in a BMW E39 5 Series? They suck so bad!

No...My vision of a Real 4x4 is my 1978 IH Scout II Terra with 4 inch Skyjacker Softride Lift, 33x10.5x15 BFG A/T, Detroit Locker in the 3.73 Rear Dana 60, New Detroit Electric LSD/Locker in the 3.73 Front Dana 44, 392ci V8, 727 Torque-Flight Tranny, 4 to 1 two speed transfer case. To have that all I need is the Lockers, the 3.73 Dana 60, the 4 to 1 transfer case, and Tires.

The Chevy SS is the better car in my mind since I am a Chevy lover. BUt really I just think if they ever make it that it will be a great car.

Audi always has bad cupholders. "Too tippy, too small." Damn crap. And yes the BMW M5 is the best car ever.

Actually The GTO is going to be made in the U.S so it aint an import just the design is.

I was under the impression the GTO was going to be made here - there was talk of the Commodore going to the US with its next big update, but that it would be designed here and manufactured there.

when you're 15, yeah... then you grow up and realise it's not quite the case...

Well, yeah, that was the topic for debate.

But why not?

price tag, you can't use it all year, poor rear seat, poor trunk space, etc...

to be the best car ever, you need to have all these things in the same car... affordable, practical, fast and usable. It aint gonna happen anytime soon...

It would be very hard to name the best car ever since well everyones definition for the best car would be different.

Like me I would say some older Detriot Iron but others might say some new Japanese pocket rocket.

The new 6.

Yup. Fast, controllable, handels well, looks great, nice interior and space, it's got it all.

do you happen to know any other cars aside Mazda? they're not the be-all-end-all of the car market...

no definalty not...it might be a good car but not the best.

By your defintion MAZ I could say the PT Crusier is the best car out there...and well all know thats not true.

Yeah, but no other car can match its price, horsepower, and rear seat/trunk space ability. You can't use it all year? Maybe not in Quebec...

Affordable, practical, fast, and useable? Sounds suspiciously like the Altima V6, to me.

The problem is that the M5 is affordable, practical, fast, and useable. It's all on a scale. It's affordable compared to many cars in its class, but not overall. Practical is the same deal. It's surely fast, and it bests many competitors for useability. The problem is the trade off. The Altima is only better than average in all categories, so an argument could be made for its 'best ever' status, however certain cars excel in one or two categories, but lag in all others. Which is why best car ever is a near-impossible title.
