Well I use the G27, I tried to drift with a controller for whatever reason!
I couldn't do anything, as opposed to Forza 4 where its really easy to pull out nice drifts with a controller.
Both wheel and DS3 drifting requires a different set of skills.

But seriously though.... this is a game, not real life. Obviously using a wheel takes alot of skill, but so does trying to drift smoothly with the DS3. Drifting, for that matter, takes huge amount of skill. Wheel users just have to put alot more physical effort. I know many people can't even afford a wheel... This whole ds3 vs wheel issue has come up alot in many past competitions and has become very frustrating. I always get irritated when an elitist wheel-user complains about DS3 users during battle.


By the way I have both a wheel (G25) and a DS3, and I can drift with both. For those who know me, they know that I obviously mostly use the DS3 mainly because I am way more comfortable drifting and tandeming with it - I have at least 12 years experience drifting with a controller. I bought my G25 last year but because of major changes in my life, I just haven't had the time/patience to actually practice it. Even if I ever get good at the wheel, I wont discriminate against controller users.. because in the end this is still just a video game.

I'm a DS3 user and i was a bit surprised to hear what you guys had to say. However, twitchiness with a DS3 is a drawback for me when I use it and especially in video's that I make. Again, to get good you need to practice. At the minute I am learning to be more balanced and learning to use more finesse in the way I use the throttle and steering. A DS3 will always be twitchy to a state but like with a wheel it takes a lot of practice to get good.

Moving on....in all seriousness, I don't take myself too seriously, so my comment about not taking DS3 users seriously shouldn't be taken too seriously Like Marc said, it's just a video game...it's for fun, no one should take any of it seriously. And as far as I know, no one around here gets payed to drift in GT5, so none of us are "pros".

DS3 agains´t smoothness... its all about tune your car properly. Some cars of mine are twitchy, some are not.
