... self-adjusting field of AI cars ...

I have said all along that the fields in ALL events should adjust to whatever car you use. It would add alot of replayability to run the same race in a slower or faster car and still be a competitive race.

Of course you'd still have to use harder tires than the AI to really make it competitive...

New Expert Challenge Race format is bringing back Immaculate Challenges :)

More info in the first post, see you later with established challenges 👍

:) Just completed the Fiat Challenge after about 8 attempts, but looking on the replay, I just 'kiss' one of the AI on a corner exit, so back to the drawing board!

Way to go :) 👍👍

Im stucked with this event, tried almost every tune in this thread for the Elise 111R, but I couldn't get 1:03'xx stably in practice mode. My best lap record was about 1:04'xx, I use Fanatec GT2&CSP, and have moderate driving skill, best records were 6:09' on The Ring with a Zonda R, and 6:08' with a Mazda Furai.

Am I doing something wrong or my driving is not good enough? :grumpy:

I use Fanatec GT2&CSP:

Downgrade you Fanatec firmware from default 681 to 669U.

Than use this settings for GT5 exclusivelly:

Sensitivity (SEn): 0 (when on "0" it actually uses game settings for steering degrees)
Force feedback strength (FF): 90
Vibration strength (Sho): 20
Drift mode (dri): 5 > most important setting*
ABS: 25 (I use 25, because I like to feel rumble early)
Linearity (Lin): 0
Deadzone (dEA): 0

* for write up why "Drift" setting is extremely important and why you should downgrade to 669U please visit this writeup I happen to elaborate and wrote today after few months of GT2 testing:
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=28638767&postcount=1931

If you can manage to run 1.04 on Tsukuba with stock 111R and on default GT2, your driving is more than good.

Cheers 👍

Thanks for your help!👍 I was thinking that my wheel setting is not suitable for GT5 coz I've just got it for a month, always use S_1 default setting, 900 sens, 100 ff, 0 dz, 0 springs and damper. Im gonna try to downgrade its firmware as you recommended, will post the result later.

Cheers,

@arma212:

Thanks again for your great info!👍
I've just downgraded my GT2's firmware to 669UE, used your setting, but I couldn't set the sens to 0 like you said, OFF is the lowest option, so I set it to OFF. And WoW, this is not GT2 lol, a G27 improved force feedback in Fanatec GT2 form. No more twitchy, no more heavy rim, its just smooth as G27, but still precise, the oversteer 'effect' has been eliminated as well. I really don't care about damper and spring setting coz I always tried to eliminate the twitchy feeling by setting them to -3 all, but it was still there.

Cheers:cheers:

I put in quite a few laps in a brand new Fiat 500, without any changes. At last I got a clean session, up until the very last chicane where I rammed the leading car (which was going much slower). And I noticed that the HP had increased to a whopping 65. :sly:

Back to square one. :ouch:

It took a few more tries, but in the end I got a clean race. :dopey:

It was great fun and an enormous challenge to get five clean laps in a row. The speed of the car is not really an issue, but changing driving lines because of the opponents is. Thanks for the challenge. :)

I can't get first in any of the three races as it is, so have no hope of getting quicker times or anything.

I suck at this game. :(

You might want to try my British Lightweight Challenge: Nordschleife 1 lap, Car: TVR Tamora, stock from dealer, no oil change, comfort soft tyres :nervous:
My lap times are around 8:02 - 8:04

Denur, how did you get your car up to thoses speeds. I have only been able to get up to 90 to 110...interested in knowing so I can win this event...

Basically this track with this car is just a few very long straights. It is therefore essential to carry as much speed as possible coming out of each corner. The Fiat 500 is a front-wheel drive with a lousy (stock) suspension. As a result high speed while cornering kills your exit speed. What I did is trying to get the front wheels straight again as soon as possible and thus regaining grip. If you get a lot of wheel squeal, than you're trying too hard.

He is in Europe (Netherlands), and so his speed is in km/h instead of your mph. Multiply his speed by .62 to get an approximation of where you need to be. :)

am i being stupid here? i cant seem to find a lotus 111r at 144bhp??? from the dealer they are at 188. do i have to dial down the power manually?
