Important information for UK GT Academy participants

Is there anyone else still waiting for the email? I filled out the form at about 10am ish, but I haven't got a reply yet.
 
I imagine emails and confirmations will be sent once the registration deadline has passed, and therefore all possible dropouts have been processed and non-top 20 finishers can be notified.

So expect something after Tuesday midnight 👍

Though if something didn't quite go right with the registrations, waiting until AFTER the deadline to find out whether it went through successfully could be very risky!?

If no other UK entrants have received one, that's ok with me so far.
 
I registered my details early yesterday afternoon, and as yet have had no emails or anything. If everyone else in the UK is the same then I wont worry, and did sort of assume that they might wait until all qualifiers had registered by the deadline and the top 20 then get the emails.

Any more info from other qualifiers about this ovbiously gladly received!
 
Just had a phonecall to confirm registration and check off the terms and conditions.

The UK final is to be held at Brands Hatch Wednesday 17th. Hotel accomodation is provided the night before. We are allowed to bring one guest.

More information to come by e-mail tomorrow.
 
Just myself had a voicemail message left.

I was worried as the lady said "Just a few details we need to go through" but I'm glad you got a call too. I'll call the number I was given back in the morning.

I had a conversation with one of their phone people and confirmed my entry details, got the same info as John and was told they would be sending out forms etc by email tomorrow and will require scanned or mailed documents by Friday 5th I think it was. 👍

Confirmation and documents for signing have now been emailed to UK finalists. These include the personal profile, the medical form, event information and timings, directions etc.

Anyone else have fun answering the "Driver Profile Questions" ?

I'm awfully guilty of not taking questionaires seriously. The first answer that comes into my head is always, always a joke...And have to spend time thinking of a serious one!

What time you guys getting down to the hotel? Me and Kezia are working on Tuesday so will have to drive down after work - will totally depend on traffic flow to how successful we are with getting there on time :(

I was the same, but I havent completed it yet, will sort it at the weekend. My biggest prob is the favorite racing driver... why can that be favorite rider. :D

I have Tuesday off, will probably leave mine around 1pm, 2 hours to get there ish. Sam likes the look of the Spa and pool.. Where is the bar? :sly:

I've completed all mine already!

I'll try and leave early from work, my manager should be fairly understaning.

The bar sounds like a good idea. Couldn't sleep with excitement so a few cold ones would slip down nicely I reckon. Can't wait to meet you lot :)

Good to hear you all know how and what. The Dutch guys still have to be informed...
 
...any idea on how many T20 people were not allowed?

Some good guys sitting just outside the bubble who it'd be nice to see, cough Stotty, cough...

Yeah, I'm having the same trouble trying to answer the questions seriously. I've opened up the "which actor would play you in a film," question to my friends, with interesting results... As for weaknesses, I'm reminded of a sketch from The Office, where in his appraisal, Keith lists 'eczema.'

Should be a nice long trip for me, I dont think that there is a British circuit further away from where I live! I'll probably be stopping over at my parents in Yorkshire overnight on the 15th, to take some of the sting out of the journey.

I'm gutted I can't make it down... unfortunately I think it's way too soon after starting a new job so I'm under intense scrutiny for the next month or so :indiff:

Someone has been proved ineligible which means I'm in. I might however be out again just as quickly depending on their answer to whether my previous drifting affects it at all. I'm waiting for Rebecca to call me back about it. I've got all my fingers and toes crossed :)

You'll have zero pressure when attending, it will all be on the big boys in the top 10 :)

P.s. You know my mate Mark Riccioni. He should be attending the finals too as press - going to be great fun, just wish it was a weekend with a hotel booked for before and AFTER the event :D

I do indeed, small world, I'll have to see if I can say hi to him on the day :)
Still waiting for an answer though, and I'm not getting my hopes up.

I don't need the hotel really, I only live 8 miles from Brands :D
