Improved AI and "Blindspot indicator"

FINALLY they made the AI better! It was so easy to win in Gran Turismo 5, that it bored me a bit after a while. For example: I drove a stock Lexus LFA against Veyron's and McLaren F1's at Spa and I got up front in just two laps. And the Blindspot Indicator is a good thing that was in several games before.

Moments ago Jordan posted a story about his impressions of the newest (and probably final) build of GT6 and in the story he talks at length about the new AI and even mentions a new feature called the "blindspot indicator" Here are some bits from the story.

"it was immediately clear that there have been significant changes to the artificial intelligence of the other drivers"

"They no longer drive as “ducks-in-a-row”, as we saw in almost every race in GT5. They were actually racing with each other, going two – and once nearly three – wide into corners."

"I felt like I would need to push and drive defensively if I wanted to get ahead and win."

This all sounds promising and should certainly up the fun factor when playing A-spec!

As for the "blindspot indicator", This is what Jordan had to say about it.

"When enabled, a small red arrow blinks if there’s another car beside you – important information if you can’t see the mirrors in your preferred driving view."

Personally, I'm surprised by it being in the game but as someone who normally drives in first person I'm glad it's there. I hate accidentally turning into someone that I didn't know was there so hopefully this will help minimize those incidents.

So what do you guys think about the new AI and the new surprise feature?

Reading his post, doesn't sound very promising, they still let you pass with ease...sounds like a minor improvement...Why don;t PD get with the times and have different settings for different drivers?? LIke games the last 15 years had?? Casual or easy for casual gamers. Normal and then sim or advanced for the real drivers...PD get your crap fixed.

I hooked up my PC to the TV yesterday,m played some RACE 07 with a wheel...Ai is in another league then GT, they were aggressive, fas, yet made mistakes if they pushed too hard...This game is old..

I's wait for launch before getting too excited..He put a lot of qualifiers in his statement after... Lets face it, GT's AI had nowhere to go but up.

I'm surprised I haven't heard or seen anyone mention pseye headtracking. Didn't Kaz say at one point they were going to work on that for 6? When you could get it to work in GT5 it wasn't bad and fairly fluid.

The indicator will be nice as it's the single largest issue I've had online. Although if I had just thought of the map trick that issue would be gone. Using the side view always interrupted my senses too much and as a result I'd always just allow the inside lane to whoever I heard behind me and try to pass back when I could. You can imagine how much fun the racing is then :(

I have mentioned it. But not in this thread.

EDIT: It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. I'd rather hope for Oculus Rift support at some time

Poor drafting AI and the inclusion of a two 2.5 mile circuits, and no <1.0 mile ovals... for me, the biggest reason why NASCAR didn't live up to expectations in GT5.

Plus the wanky physics when you crash someone. Or you go in like a "Wrecking Ball"
