My ISP is terminating my Platinum account which is their pay service and they are making me go back to their free service which only lets you have 10 Hours a month to use. What a bunch of crap. Now I have to find another ISP to use. I'm gonna keep the one I got now but only for my email. Here's their reason for terminating my Platinum account:

Sent from ISP:

We regret to inform you that based upon certain factors, including the
cost of telecommunications services in your area and your pattern of
usage of our service, it has become too expensive for our company to
provide you with Platinum Internet access. In accordance with the
terms and conditions of your user agreement, your Platinum account
will be terminated on December 30, 2001. Your account will
automatically revert to our standard free service, including email
with your same member ID, on December 30, 2001, if such service is
available in your area.* If the free service is not available, we are
unable to provide any service, including email, to you.

Damn them.

I will hopefully be on every now and then to post here.

Just who's your ISP? That's inexcusable, and you shouldn't have to put up with it unless your paying nearly nothing.

Netzero. I pay $10 a month but for me I had to pay for six months upfront cuz I paid by money order.

Well, you should cancel your account right away. I use PeoplePC for my dial-up ISP, and I highly recommend it. Not to mention, it's the same price as NetZero, and you get hundreds and hundreds of more hours... ;) (and no, you don't have to have one of their computers to use their internet service)

Hmmmmm...... Maybe I will check out PeoplePC. Gotta link?

I don't really want to cancel my account cuz I wanna keep my email that I got with them. As long as they continue the free service (which I'm pretty sure they will) I can keep my email.

Yeah, just click on "PeoplePC" in that post. It will take you to http://www.peoplepc.com/connect/index.asp where you can check them out in a little more detail. :)

 I hope you're able to find something ASAP... in fact, you have to. We can't keep up this crazy posting record without you! :)

Man that does suck.

Still if it's free you can maintain that service, keep your e-mail, and find another 'premium' ISP!

Good luck.

I'm not sure I can use PeoplePC. I'm looking at their billing options and they are only accepting credit cards if I seeing it correctly. I don't have a credit card nor does my mom or dad.

Wha??????? I confused on what you are trying to say there. Maybe its just me.

Well, where as this site is gtplanet.net, a website for The Unknown might be gtplanet.?

Like most of my jokes, it really doesn't stand up to much analysis.

Well I'm on the free service for my isp. It wouldn't be so bad if they would give more than just 10 hours a month to use.

Yeah, that's no fun. I guess you'll be surfing quicker these days (:

Yeah i guess so. I'm right in the middle of finding another one besides this one to use. I'll keep this one just for my email and use another one for surfing.

Well since I'm on the free service now, does anyone have an alternative ISP that is good? I am considering between three right now: Dotnow, PeoplePC online, and Earthlink. Anyone know of a good one?

My experience with PeoplePC has been excellent so far. :)

Yeah but like I said on page 1, can I pay other than credit card?
Well, I don't know about that; you should check their website or call them up and ask. But, I haven't heard of any ISP that will accept any other kind of payment (haven't been paying much attention, though).

10 Hours a month:confused: Screw that, dude, I use that in like 2 days...:D Go to a library and use their computers or somethin'...:)

Well at least one good thing to say is that my current ISP has what they call "Free Platinum Weekends". That is their pay service that they give to people on free service only on the weekends for the month of January. Thank god for that as that will give me alittle more time to find an ISP. ;)
