Indy 500

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I recently did the Indy 500 and was about 7th when the leaders finished. I was about four laps down. Instead of the race finishing as each car passed the chequred flag, the leaders slowed down to a crawl and the rest of the field continued to lap, smashing into the back of the slow cars, often just sitting behind them at almost a standstill.

Any comments?

Just use the x1 or another overpowered car and you will win

Edit: and once the leader crosses the finish line, they will slow down. Don't know why but they just do.
