Really pathetic. Attendance also looked down quite a bit too. But they packed the house last year just because it was the 100th running. Typical, these people are more concerned with the packaging rather then the actual product.

Auto racing in America is a lost cause
That's a bit over exaggerated don't you think? TV ratings go up and down, especially with such a niche sport like Auto racing and the fact that we're in a more digital age. From what I've seen recently, auto racing in America is on a path of growth with series such as Trans am, PWC, and WSCC gaining more popularity via international parties and manufacturers.
