I'm racing in the Grand AM Sportsman series this season with the Riley DP and love driving this car. I just qualified for this series just a little while ago with a "C" license. So far I fared not to bad with 2 top 5's in 3 races. There are a lot of fast racers in this series and at times it feels a tad overwhelming. As well there are some tracks that do not get great turn outs, such as Infineon. You could just as easy drive a 4x4 in 4 wheel drive their as much as your race car.

I love "Infineon Long" it's a very technical track with tight turns that if not taken correctly will leave you in the sand and a day at the beach. :) I could not make last weeks opening day at Infineon, which AFAIK was the only official race last week. UGH!!!, I checked out everyday after that and we could not get enough people to make it official, 10 racers. we had 5 one night and everyone quit at the start. So I slipped from 1st to 2nd in my division (7) because I couldn't make an official race last week their.

What's the solution? Just make sure you are at every race to find one that goes official? The nice tracks like Daytona and Watkins has official races almost everyday. Oh well, suck it up buttercup and stick with the program. :D

Don't worry about your division points. This is one of the reasons we have four "drop weeks" every season. Some tracks are just unpopular.

At first Infineon wasn't my track. But if you start to know it, its a very nice track.

i was driving whit a big grid(20+), but i did blow-up my engine in the middle of the race. So ok we take the next race but suddenly there were only 6 driver were 4 left the race. Next day i had no official races either so i had to squeeze a race in on monday were there was atleast one race whit +10drivers.

I really like Infineon, that's my point. I really like Infineon and Barber, many people don't like the tough or harder tracks. Infineon I did not like at first, now I think it's a brilliant track. I don't think it would be much fun if you had, say 40 cars on it, yes I know that can't happen, but what if there were 30 cars on it?

My point is something must be done, you miss one day, the only official race of the week and you can't get a race, pathetic really. I don't blame iRacing for this, actually it's the drivers them self's that are to blame. I don't know the answer but if a person missed 3 or 4 races because they didn't go official that pretty much messes up your season.

Well I had two races on Infinion, one with 20 people and one with 30 people. Both were 03:00 for me so it was more suited for the American guys.

But I think I'm done racing the so called "hot splits". Some people in there just doesn't think they have to race for position and they could have me believe it was a matter of life and death. Some guy just tried to go through me in the last race and then he have the nerve to go on voice and blame me for it. Then after the race he sent me a message. Very short, but there was no doubt what he meant!

Message: You Suck!!!

I watched the replay over and over again and I studied the driving school videos over again to be sure I remembered the etiquette for overtaking and reported him. Not for the incident, but for the insult. As the sporting code seem to have stricter rules on insults than on racing idiots. Racing idiots seem to deserve a "lesson" in how to drive, but insults just didn't belong in the iracing forums. He probably gets away with a slap on the wrist and goes back to his insult racing. Another one to the list of try to stay away from!!

And if you doesn't want to sit around waiting for 10 people to sign up.. select one of the so called "hot splits" for Grand Am.

Well Erik I've raced with you twice in the last month or so and as I said before, you are fast, clean and your etiquette is just as good as any out there. I did a MX-5 the other night at Lime rock and I ended up 3rd. I should have won the race handily but a couple mistakes on my part and a few big mistake on a couple rookies with 3 laps left in the race I got taken out.

I would protest/report that guy as well. He's going down, well sort of. He will get his PM privilege suspended for a minimum of 3 months.

I figured people would maybe be a little more mature in Grand-Am..
Doesn't really matter, you will find undesirables wherever you go. :)
