Is is true what Tommy Haake said about the G27? That you can remap the buttons on the wheel by using the Driving Force Pro menu? That would be great if true.

It works on the G25 so It should on the G27 Nasadus

Yes, but a RA menu won't pop up even if you assign it a button and the only buttons on the G27 that work (even if you map them all) are the upper two on the wheel, triangle, x, d-pad, select and start. You're six buttons short.

If it wan't for the paddle and LED support I'd say GT5:P had better G27 support.

👎 for PD

Would this not be too late....I see myself to have "completed" the game already lol (not counting the endurance races and the entire B spec and all sorts of features that are just plainly boring)

It's a good review for the most part.

I don't agree with the game becoming a grind after Level 20 though. I am currently a Level 32 and I have yet to grind once. I have yet to do the 9hr and 24 hr Endurance races as well as the F1GT races.

It seems that the real grind of this game happens after Level 35.

I agree good review on the whole. However, you really have to question some of their comments.

For example they say that to get from level 35 to level 40 you HAVE TO run the 24 hour le mans race 11 times.......hmmmm.......that's odd because I am at level 37 and haven't run it once yet.

You don't HAVE to run the 24 hour races at all to get to level 40. That's just the way THEY chose to progress.

The only way to get to lvl40 on B-spec besides grinding races, be it 24h Le Mans or Dream Car Champ, is by having your friends use your drivers. I believe they made a valid point here. By saying that you have to do 24h Le Mans 11 times, I think they just wanted to show how much grinding it takes to actually progress in the game at that point. It really is ridiculous how much it is...

I agree. Level 35 is the point where you kinda run out of things to do. I think grinding in B-spec has been alleviated by remote race. I think that if they had kept doing the original higher XP online events, A-Spec wouldn't require any grinding. Otherwise, a pretty accurate review.

List of their fav things and their biggest gripes. I agree with just about all of them 👍

Imho the two things that are in the most urgent need of improving are the a-spec and b-spec events. Both in amount and quality. And the ai. I find it a bit odd that neither was in their wish list tbh when both were directly or indirectly criticized earlier in the review...

As a whole I kind of agree with their scorings but I would have probably given less to ffb, sounds and the ease of use I don't have t500 but I don't find the ffb anything special with fanatec either. All things considered I think their score is pretty fair though. Personally I bought the game thinking I'll get tons of races so for me that is the biggest negative of the game.

Of course whole other issue is that the game was released almost 4 months ago. I don't think putting so much time and effort to reviewing this game really pays off for them. There were pretty good reviews out within week or two after the game was launched and imho this review wasn't that special as they claim.

I don't think gt5 is that long of a game that it takes even half the time of that to do a proper review of it. The later updates and seasonals (like the pp system) are fine to mention to the review but they hardly mentioned them. I also don't think that having tons of b-spec bobs at level 40 or so adds any "depth of opinion". Once you are at a-spec level 25 and have done some photoshoots, seasonals, special events and some online racing you have pretty good idea what the game is. Afer that there is really nothing that can change your opinion anymore.

There is no B-spec grind. If you have been running remote races and you have friends doing the same you can get to lv40 Bspec without repeating any of the endurance races. I did.

They were talking about B-spec. And because they get to Level 40 before Remote Race came out, grind is the only way to get to Level 40.
On A-spec I agree with you, if one gold everything and be patient (wait for seasonal events,...) there will be no need to grind to get to 40.

Good review, although I don't get some of the stuff they say, especially the pro and contra list. No mentioning of different race classes (Rally, NASCAR and normal road racing all feel very different), no mentioning of weather effects, not a single word about photomode. I also don't understand the multiplayer rating. 16 players (plus additional 16 spectators), 2 player split-screen, tons of options, a private and open lobby system, I cannot find everything really negative about it.

....
The only reason you can't used the paddles in Gt5P and FC with the G27 wheel is because you can't disengaged the H-shifter. (something you can do with both g25 and fanatec wheels)

Jessica lost weight :)

And her boobs got smaller

Moving on.....

GT5 scored 83, Forza 3 scored 89.

Yes...

I agree with some of their gripes, but others are just plain nit picking. For example, saying "the cockpit shakes to much". Really? Thats one of the bad things? I mean, its not like cars dont shake in relation to your head in real life, other wise you would be one very dizzy person after a short drive.

Career progression isnt brutal at all, Im level 29, havent completed International license C and up, havent done most of the enduros (did indy), nor have I done the FGT championship. Slight exageration there... They can adjust the gaming level by entering an inferior car; easy fix.

Course cutting, I actually havent seen at all, bar the astroturf chicanes at Monza. The lack of customisation, if you want that, play one of the older need fro speeds.

I am not some fanboy saying GT5 isnt without problems, because there are defiantely things I would change in GT5 (mid race saves or b spec assitance with enduros, and the ability to speed up time like in gt4 etc.). All I am saying, is some of the stuff they picked sounds like they are nit picking and (almost) like didnt try enough.

P.S. Thats only the second part of their review, go to their website to check the first part (they did talk about some of the other features like photo mode in Part 1).

Real cars shake in relation to your body, but your vision don't shake that much. Try NASCAR car on oval track, it's really too much.

Career progression is brutal after lvl. 35, that is after golding everything in game (incl. Vettel challenge to which I had to grind through lvl. 29)
