I personally don't mind that they did their shots like that, but I see what your saying, the idea is to be inspired by the theme picture not necessarily to use it in your shot.

But, its your call since this comp is your idea.👍

I agree. If you make it like that, then more people who cant access photoshop will have a chance.

then that just blows the whole purpose of the competition having an inspiration theme to it, and having that flower as an inspiration. plus, where did it say you cannot use the photo in the picture ? if u look at fashion designers or exec. chefs, or even bartenders (like me) if they're inspired by something, they use what they can to capture that something. why do u think margarita's usually come with an umbrella on top ? just my two cents :)

The point is to be inspired by the picture. Do car designers put what they were inspired by in the picture? I think you're getting "inspired" confused with "making it look like it" or "putting it in it."
This is exactly how it's different from normal comps. When you see that picture, you should think of something you like about the picture, like the color, then use that color in your photo. What you shouldn't do is say "I need to put that flower into my photo, so I'll just paste it on a picture that has nothing else to do with it and it will fit perfectly."
But Gnasha's is different, that pic has a Citroen with that color, and a whole feild of flowers below. Maybe the inspiration came from the shape of the Citroen, or even it's economy, or something different. The point is, think of something in GT that that flower makes you think of, then try to express that the best you can. No offense jgda9rs, but i just think you're kinda missing the point of "inspiration." ;) Strangely enough, you didn't use the pic in you're shot, and seemed to be inspired in exactly the way I mean...

So do you want me to put in the rules for the next comp that your not allowed to use the theme picture in your shot?

Yes, it seems people can do pretty good entries without it, but still allow the ones this week that have it, they have a lot of effort in them. 👍

you're right. i guess i should have said not to make it so obvious. what i meant exactly was capture the element of the theme. and no, no offense taken. what you typed here is what i should have said in the first place. my apologies. :) and no, i did not miss the point. atleast i hope my entry says so :D sorry again.

Really nice shoot jgda

The 2CV or "Deudeuche" is the french hippies car by excellence so when I saw flower... well you saw the rest.

Can't remember really, if you look at the two post there's 1h26 in between so I'll say around 40/50mn for the whole thing as I was watching TV and snacking at the same time.
