whoa....complaints by pm guys....your gonna get us shut down again. lol

EDIT: perhaps i should have pm'ed that lol

i'm giving up driving for tonight. was hoping to last longer, but i'm too knackered. Catch you all tomorrow.

Great racing with GTP_szoag, GTP_MJH and GTP_Superwally in their Elises, FAK_EV1L (In Clio), KOR_Kingpin, TurboLuke and GTP_Vaxen in their Corvettes.

But where was GTP_S3riousc4t in his Ford GT06??

I saw a lot of really respectful driving on track today, I hope people can say the same for me. Still waiting to catch Maffski, Timppaq, Rudi and Hugo in the same race. Reckon that might be quite epic.

All the best

Great racing Maziar, as well as all those you mentioned. I could not get the stupid telephone to stop ringing tonight, wanted to race more but could not. There were some packed grids earlier.

With option 2, it says we we must use the correct PP, does that mean 749PP is not an option?

Yes. If the car can reach 750pp, you must use 750pp.

no_one_interesting , it was very interesting battle who would be last in one race! :)

No_One_Interestin contacted me, and wanted me to pass along his thanks for some great clean racing tonight. Keep it up guys!

I'm out for the night... and I'd have to agree that the racing was fun, and close, and clean. Those I battled with, 👍.

Highlight of the night was when TwistyBits and I found ourselves near the back of the pack, and we both made our way up through the field together, making clean pass after clean pass, meanwhile battling it out between us.

I AM THE KING OF MY STREET. :grumpy:

:embarrassed::embarrassed::embarrassed:
sorry it, my cat, (he) took the computer when i was in kitchen for my racing coffee.
i know, it 's serious here, next coffee i been take away my mousse

May I ask why the GTLM is frowned upon but not the 111R/Tuned, it's another car leagues above the rest of the pack, especially when I have to upset the handling on my Viper by losing some downforce to fit the 750 requirement. I thought one click would make no difference but it just doesn't feel the same anymore. Its for this reason (not the Elise deal) that I'll go be sticking to 15s, i want the freedom to tune my car how i want it (i've got the points as high as i can with this in mind).

Man, Rudi - you're FAST round here. Especially for an Evo X!

Decided it would be best to let you round me at the hairpin then watch and learn, chuffed to keep second to be honest!

I believe he's running a Evo IX atm :)

Anyone on 02-17-32.... ?

Good question, my guess is: because it is "leagues above the rest of the pack". Yes, there is the GTP 00-15-30-45 race where it is eligible, but there were no GTP team mates there when I visited. Everyone was over at the GTLM-banned event. On a positive note, since I am a GTLM addict, the latter event forced me out of my comfort zone to start trying different cars and break the HSR-GTLM habit.

Still, other racers [non GTP] always show up at the GTLM-banned event anyhow, driving the GTLM [like doctorben :scared:] , as do the non-750-exact tuners.

I'm OK with the banned event since there is an optional event. But I don't understand the reason for the exact-750pp rule, especially since cars that can't reach 750pp are still allowed. If you have the rule, OK, but it should apply to all cars. Maybe a range would be more agreeable, say 740-750?

Anyhow, nothing that I'll lose sleep over.

...my 1.5 cents [inflation].:)

The GTLM really is leagues above the rest, as it has no weaknesses. It's very fast in the bends, has awesome acceleration off of the line and out of the turns, and has a very high top speed. The only balancing factor is that it's tricky to drive, but once mastered, other cars will have a very hard time competing.

The Elise is faster around the curves than any other car, but lacks top end speed. This gives it a weakness that can be exploited by a skilled driver.

As for the 750pp rule: Virtually every driver that tunes their car to less than the maximum allowed does so to improve their start position on the grid. I don't agree with the ruling that allows cars that can't reach 750pp (such as the Clio) in this event, but those are the rules as laid down, so I can live with it.

The sheer popularity of this event, likely because it allows for competitive racing between a number of different cars and tunes, speaks volumes for the wisdom of the chosen parameters.

Appeared to me that far more newbies would be able to ring the neck of the GTLM than they could with the Elise. I think the Elise requires a lot more finesse, thusly making it a bit more honourable if you win/make progress?

I had spent about 3 months perfecting my 749PP set-up for the GTR. Adding 30kg's to it to make it upto 750PP really upset the balance of the car, especially through sector one.

But 2-3 days of adjusting that set up and I've actually improved the car somewhat.

👍

Hey mate, allow me to thank you again for the baseline of a tune that has me singing out the window of my tuned Vette :)

I actually disagree with you, I've found the GTLM to be much more difficult to beat than the Elise. I think Hugo's was the only Elise I've raced against that I didn't reel in, and I think that's because I lost his draft. On the straights, out of tight corners, the Elise loses out big time. This means that you CAN actually beat an Elise on a straight when you're close, but a GTLM just rockets away.

Having said that, I decided to drop into 00-15 etc for a race or two today, and I beat ZERODUCK's GTLM, and considering he cuts the grass at Degner 1 I feel this to be quite an acheivement for me. But as for expert GTLM drivers, and there a number of them about (such as yourself) I feel I would not stand a chance.

However there's no Elise that I have raced where I didn't feel I had a chance. I do wholly accept though that your experience may be different, I just wanted to offer you my experience, albeit limited, so far 👍

All the best

Have to agree on that maz! As a elise driver I do overtake many in corners but they come back on straight useally. and traffic in esses is also a challange. defently not a easy win...

Exactly, I've lost track of how many back and forth pass-repass battles I've had with Ton (szoag) in the last week. Incredibly good fun.

Haven't seen you on for a few days Volcano, look forward to catching you soon :)

I follow Sphinx ruels and PM some drivers after taking the Vette for a couple. I'm sorry to say that it's a lot of PM's. (mostly not GTP) Private rooms where are you?????????????????????????
