P.S: Do you agree with me about the Diablo beeing one of the best looking cars in Gran Turismo 3!

I think it's one of the best-looking cars hidden in Gran Turismo 3 that I can't 🤬 access! :banghead:

Thanks McLaren. How did you know that. I read on IMG about the car, and it said that it was not a proper Lamborghini. Mind you, it's only a game website, so I suppose they would'nt know much. Thanks for posting this information, I would'nt want to give anyone the wrong idea about the car. :) :) :)

Just various years of reading about Lamborghini. :)

I would say it's one of the best looking cars in GT3, but since most here know I'm a die-hard enthuiast, I'd easily agree.

The Lamborghini Diablo 6.0 VT Japan GT Championship car has a 625HP, 6.0L V12 Engine with a Mid Engined, Rear wheel drive layout. It is capable of speeds over 200MPH stock, and can only be in the other GT3's when you hack into the memory card.

Just a couple tidbits. The Diablo wasn't a VT because VT means Viscous Traction, Lamborghini's AWD system. The car also developed 655Bhp. :)

Yeah, maybe they used that model for the Nomad Diablo, seeing that it is also a MR car.

All Diablos were MR's. This car though, was just an entirely new body style as the rear end was dramatically changed. It pretty much was designed with SV-R technology, but everything was brand new. This car served as the test body for that 6.0L engine that would later be developed for the Diablo GT and Diablo VT 6.0.

Does this mean that the Normad Diablo is basiclly a Lamborghini Diablo underneath? Same engine, different bodywork? đź’ˇ

I don't get it, all diablos are MR but the VT model is not MR? Isn't it M-4WD like you said? Also there is a Lamborghini Diablo SV, which looks like the VT with a rear spoiler.

That seems weird for the Lambo to be 4WD. Because on the video I watched the person driving was drifting the car very easily, and you simply cant do that with a Four Wheel Drive car. So if it is really 4WD and you can drift it, PD sure got the handling system goofed up! :dopey: :dopey: :dopey:

It was not really a normal 4WD car, it was a Mid Engined 4WD car. Just like the ZZ-II. That means it can drift with off the gas, and even sometimes on it. The Diablo in the game is MR, so it must be the SV model they edited and souped up.

Dont be mean, I only made them 5 years ago, how nasty of you to call them mouldy. Their still good, just very soft and green, anyway, let me eat in peace...

P.S: I dont feel so good :ill: :ill: :ill: :ill: :ill: :ill: :ill: :ill:

Wow!
I'm glad to see everyone enjoying a chat about the Diablo. đź‘Ť
As for those races... Well...
Race 4 was actually 2 races (I remember well since I won them both! :sly: ). It was a race on rome forward as well as a race on rome reverse (ah how I miss some of the GT3 tracks!). :ouch:

Also, notice how I wasn't in the final results? That sucked... We had some disagreements and I ended up withdrawing (although the reasons for the events that took place are long over, forgotten and forgiven).

None the less, I love to see that something so old can bring back interest in the subject so much time later.

Regarding the car used...
Bob created a special Diablo for us. In stock form that diablo put out 600+ hp with MR format. Because that was so much overkill, we ran with something along the lines of 550hp (maybe as low as 450).
We actually put bob to the test by showing him that even with the computer running as much as 800 hp they were unable to keep up. :mischievous:

The series was very well organized and engineered. Credit goes to "UB57/Old Geezer/ Bob" for that.

Also, I might be able to point out the interest in this series to some of the members involved in the original but as of now it looks like very few are still here with the GTP. In fact, most of the people still at the GTP who took place in the event are moderators. Only a few of the non-mods are still around (I think Gil is still around the board).

In any case, thanks for re-capping those events Skid Mark.
+rep to you for that!

Hey Kent, since you were one of the people who acutally raced in that series, could you tell us what was your best race and why. It would be very intresting to find out! :)

P.S: Also Kent, could you tell us why the series died, or stopped if you preffer! It would be great if you could!

B-Spec Bob? Where?

Yeah, you are going to be on the toilet tonight brotha!

You -|>
Me -|><|- Diablo JGTC

It's just that great of a car, it is what makes me still play GT3. đź‘Ť It will do what ever you want it to do, matter of fact, I will do the FGT Championship in this car.

What I still want to find out is why the Lambo was not on the any other version from the Japanesse. Maybe it's because the team who supplied them with the license to model the car, only gave them permission to put it in the Japanesse game. Who knows...

It was a "personal car" for that guy who made GT3, he forgot to remove the coding for the car so you have to hack into the game save to get one. Same goes for the Porsches.

Nope, but I got the GT3 Garage Editer so I can add these "hidden" cars. He shouldn't hide the best car in the game, it's like NFS Carbon with the cars you can't buy. They had a Toyota MR2, Plymouth Roadrunner, and way more. But you can only win them by racing a moderator online and beating them. đź‘Ž

Well...
The series came to an end because it was original planned out by Bob to only be a short race series for a select number of members who were all into good racing. đź‘Ť The series was open to everyone and anyone but you had to be able to get a Diablo, which kept the entries to only those of us who had a replay device and a NTSC copy of the game.

Once we had run all the events everyone was looking for a break and even though it may have been suggested we do it again, the amount of effort it took to create the races was vast. Bob did an excellent job and dedicated a great deal of time to creating good races. No one was prepared to ask, none the less demand another run of the series even though we would have all enjoyed it greatly.

As for my best race... It would have to be races 4A and 4B... Those were the only two I won.
It took some effort but I'm sure the fact that there were two races helped me take those victories. I'm willing to bet many other races had a hard time evenly splitting time for both events.
Of course, I did have some personal motivation to win but that was due to the events that eventually left me feeling a withdraw was the best course of action (what can I say, nothing motivates someone like revenge!).

In any case, it was a great series and lots of fun.
Everyone who competed enjoyed the series and it was only due to the length of each race that any of us scored a DNF.

Overall the series was one of the best I've ever had the pleasure to run. đź‘Ť

btw, the American version of GT3 had both the Diablo race car as well as the stock 911 road car (which is an exact replica of the RGT using slightly different body panels). :D

Cool, Thanks Kent. What I dont understand is how you can get DNF's. I did'nt think you could have engine fauliers or crashes on GT3!

P.S: Do you think you could upload some replay files onto the thread please. And thanks for telling us more!

That's very observant of you Skid Mark, there was no B-spec in GT3. Also, that brings me back to how much I hated people reffering to the computer in B-spec as Bob.
"Bob" aka Old Geezer was one of the most respected members of the GTP. He was a good person, a great racer, and a loyal friend (who actually did a great deal of research to find my where-abouts after Katrina hit). I miss his pressence here at the GTP and hope that one day he will return.
In honor of Bob...

Now regarding the DNFs... That was just a way to say someone didn't submit a time for the race.
Also, regarding replays...
I went and searched, found the races I won :sly: , and now I've got the replay files posted here as attachments to this post. If you get to watch them I hope you enjoy them. :D đź‘Ť

Btw, notice how I was "GoKents" back then... It was so long back that I wasn't comfortable with my real name as a screen name, I liked DBZ a ton, and I wasn't a moderator (when I became a mod Jordan was generous enough to grant me a change of name to just "Kent"). Old times for sure!

Kent, How do I get the right software to run these video's! :)

P.S: And thank you for giving us information. It is great for someone who knows about these things to help us out.
