sign me up as tenative. Note, with the early start time I probably wont make any of the qualifying sessions if I am able to make the races. SO I will just start in the back if that is ok.

Put me in as Pro/Pro-Am. I am not sure which I should be in but it doesn't bother me what class you put me in.

We are looking good for Season 2!

Everyone, please read through the rules carefully and be sure to post up any questions you may have here in this thread. Better to clear any issues before the season starts.

Two rules questions:

1) What is the speed for the formation lap/that the leader should lead the field to green at the start?

2) For the “classification” race, will there be a qualifying session or how will the grid be set?

Thanks!

1. Speed during the formation lap shall be 70mph.

2. There will be a 20 minute Qualifier followed by a 30 minute race. Qualifier starts at 8:30 pm. I will have the lobby open by 8pm for drivers to gather and practice if the wish to run laps before the Qualifier.

Do you guys want to run it as a one make or drive the car you chose for the series with BoP on?

I am beginning to think it is best to determine pace based on what car each driver will actually be using.

EDIT: If we use the car selected for the season BoP will be turned to on with no ballast applied. In case it wasnt obvious.

FWIW, I think running the qualifier in our chosen cars will yield the best results for driver placement.

3 questions:

1: I just wanted to verify that there is no tuning allowed. We have to run BoP and stock settings, correct?

2: Can we change cars later in the season, or do we have to run the same car for all the races?

3: Do you have number plates for this series that you want us to use?

1. No tuning allowed.

2.Drivers cannot change cars mid season. You're free to switch between now and the start of the season.

3. Link to the number plate is at the end of the "Livery Rules" spoiler tab.

EDIT: number plate - https://www.gran-turismo.com/us/gts.../activities/decal/5526941/8358690804677510656

I am open to either running the cars we chose or using the one make. But as others have already said maybe it is a better idea to use the cars we have selected for the season.

Yeah. I will update the thread title and post up the new parameters. This may be an exhibition race weekend.

Question: How are you going to be doing the qualifier?

As stated I am a tentative driver so I can not guarantee to make many races but nights I am available to race I wont be able to make it back home in time to actually qualify. So I suggested just starting me in the back. But problem with that is, if you run the in-house server qually session then I wont be able to join in on the race and I fear it would just be me in there causing unnecessary issues.

So what is your advice on this subject?

What I will do is take a screen shot of the Qualifier results at the race start screen (this is part of my normal pre race process anyway). If you are in the lobby the game will not let you into the race BUT we can all back out of the race and it should only take a minute or two to reset the grid and start the race (with you at the back due to no qualifying time).

This is something I would do if a participant suffered a disconnect or a system lockup prior to a race or on the first lap. We have all been there.

However, this has to be done promptly so you MUST get into the lobby in a reasonable amount of time before the race starts.

I'm sure you will do your best to be in time. We don't want a situation where we are keeping other people late who are on a tight schedule.

Guys! I have updated the OP to address car changes. Please read!

Car changes are allowed up to the start of the season. After that you cannot change cars. So do some testing.

Just a few elements about this Series that are (possibly) unique from other series:

1. The fuel level at the start of the race is set at 75%. Be sure to consider that in any testing you may do. Running out of fuel on the final lap sucks. Right @fastone371 ? We both had that happen to us at the same event.

2. Tire wear is at 2x and fuel consumption is set at 3x. This will force a pit stop for fuel, at least. Tires will be up to you. ;)

3. Success ballast will be rewarded to the podium finishers to be applied for the next event. It does affect the cars but doesn't make them totally uncompetitive. It does a nice job of mixing up the field race to race.

4. A custom livery using the official series number Board is required. If you need a livery or want some help I have a nice inventory for most cars or can whip something up.

5. The racing will be close thanks to the number of cars and the Ballast system. Dive bomb desperation moves are discouraged. Especially early in the race. Remember that damage is set to HEAVY. So a race could be destroyed by a over enthusiastic move.

Most importantly - let's have fun by having some good clean battles. Let's form some new friendships through good clean respectful battles on track. This title really shines in MP league racing!

The real problem arises at refueling, your screen shows how many laps you can run while fuel is being added but that is based on your driving habits previously. If you were short shifting to save fuel before you pit that is what your iestimated fuel load vs. laps will be based on. It is at that point that I grossly miscalculated necessary fuel load. :dunce::dunce::dunce:

Yes, same thing happened to me.
