Curious as to why I'm grouped in crystal when I have over 40 starts in the former ARS League.

Or is crystal just counting the races that are run under the IRS banner and the other three tiers are counting all starts between the ARS League?

I'm also curious about the criteria for each rank.
I share the same questions. I believe that previous starts should carry over and drivers be ranked as such, especially since the ‘past series’ are in the OP. How can all of those people have wins and championships and all of a sudden are a rookie all over again?
So, to answer your questions. The IRS is more or less a fresh start for everyone, including myself. Everyone started at 0 once the IRS was announced, and since then quite a few drivers have gotten in the minimum number of races needed to get an official ranking. Honestly another reason for this is I do not have access to all the data from the ARS and I do not want to skew the results.

As for the criteria. Everyone starts out in the Crystal Rank. Once you make 5 total starts (subject to change) you will be given an official rank. The other 3 rankings (Amethyst, Ruby, and Emerald) are based on start positions and finish positions in every race. It also takes into account the total number of drivers in a race and adjusts accordingly (ex: 8th out of 16 is roughly as good as 6th out of 12). It's not perfect, but it's a work in progress and it's looking good so far. Lastly, Emerald is the highest ranking group and Amethyst is the lowest.

Wouldn't Crystal be the lowest?
Well technically yes, but once you make 5 starts you move out of Crystal and can no longer be grouped in Crystal.

I have been giving this a lot of thought lately and I really would like to implement this I just really don't want to screw up the past results that I may or may not have. I know I was involved in roughly 90% to 95% of the ARS races, so going back and finding those qualifying and race results won't be impossible. There are some races I was never involved in, so I may or may not be able to find those results. I know this will be a big decision for the Driver Rankings for quite a few of us here, but I also want to make it fair for everyone.

Just a general check to see who all paying attention to this thread has Project Cars 2.

I have pcars2 but don't play it anymore.

+1. Sometimes play it single player but much MUCH prefer GTS for online. Just wish GTS had the PCARS2 track list.

PCARS2 is great for endurance races though due to the time and weather system and all the variables

Driver Rankings and Statistics are now up to date.

OK so the first posts should all be up to date. (OP, Universal BoP, race videos) Rankings are a week behind, but I'm planing to update those after this weeks races.

OK, so a couple big announcements from the Kart Series last Friday. First of all, @damonc84 will be taking over the Kart Series for season 2. He will be managing everything including signups, series thread, host lobbies, etc... Also, @seslab may be running a euro time slot for season 2 as well. Things are still in the early stages, but the planning is coming along great.

Secondly get ready for some serious Project Cars 2 action on PS4 obviously!

Note: The Le Mans Cup is a single 1 hour race as a prelude to the 2.4 hour race, it is not a championship or part of a championship.

So how do I sign up to be in this group? Do my wins from this season count?
I guess you could say there is no formal registration. As of your first race with us you are considered a member more or less. Also, as of now you are placed under the crystal driver ranking, due to the fact that you have not competed in 5 races yet. Once you compete in 5 races you will be ranked accordingly. Lastly, welcome to the group. It has been a pleasure having you.

Announcement

The 2.4 hours of Le Mans that was scheduled to take place on Project Cars 2 on June 15th at 8:30pm eastern will now be taking place on GT Sport at the same time. Thread will be up later today or tomorrow, I hope to see a good crowd there.

Developement Series Announcement

Starting this year the IRS is going to be running a new program of sorts. We will be running developement series, which will be in a similar vein to our main series. We are planning to limit entries to new drivers to the IRS or GTP in general and plan to also allow inexperienced drivers into these series to gain more experience for the main series. We are also planning on adopting a driver ranking system, which will allow drivers to improve their ranking to be put into the main series or have drivers sent back to improve their ranking to be moved back up to the main series. I will likely go into more details later, but this is the just of it.

Lastly, we are planning some series announcements this week. I cannot wait to share with you all what we have in store for you this year and I hope to see you all on track soon.

Thanks,
Ace
Stupendous Idea. I have often wanted to run a Driving School Series with an introductory school like an SCCA Drivers School and then two follow on schools , Intermediate and expert. Let me know if you need any help I’d be pleased to be included. GREAT!
