Nice racing with you guys:tup:

I wasn't involved in league racing since many years, so pretty happy this happens again.
I also could see some guys having big potential in Karts. If I can give you some advice, at least for those who really are interested in improving they Kart skills: practice practice practice every day and at least 400Km (250 miles) per day. ;) Since several months we are running every day a Kart Lobby called "Top Level Karting" which has similar room settings, perfect place to increase your karting level.
But also very important, avoid to race other vehicles than Karts for a good time. The reason for that is, Karts has become way more "twitchy" to drive compared to cars than it was in GT5 and GT6. The difference between these two categories got huge, specially regarding the steering input. Switching a lot between cars and karts its not going to help to get a great control of karts. ;)

Hey guys, got results and standings from Brands Hatch posted. Thanks again everyone for coming out and racing last Friday.

Thanks a lot for the results and standings tables. I really appreciate the work you do here 👍
I know very well how much time it takes to run such race series, since I was involved in the organisation of kart leagues many years ago in GT5, along with Williebaby and Jammy21. Taking care of the thread, making results tables, updating the standings and on top of that having to analyse incidents. Big respect :cheers:

I have a question regarding the "bonus" in the "Heats Standings", How do you get those? I've really tried hard to find the answer by myself, unfortunately without any success. thanks in advance ;)

Thanks, it's great to know that my work is appreciated.

As for the "bonus", I literally put it in to easily break ties. Ties are broken based on qualifying.

One last thing... You know Jammy? He's raced with us quite a bit in the past.

@aceboy127

Thank you for your explanation regarding the bonus points from both heats:tup:

I know Jammy since late 2011 / early 2012. Along with Searays and some others he was one of my first psn friends. We used to race quite a lot karts together in GT5 and GT6. Some in league but much more in online lobbies.
As mentioned in my previous post, he was involved in "KSE 125" (Kart Semi Endurance here in gtplanet) as a marshal. He's a great and trusted person.
Was hoping to see him in this kart league but I guess he's not more much involved into kart racing now.

It shows me in sixth...I take it the final placement is averaged out between the results of both heats as well as the final?
No, I'm well aware you finished 2nd in the Main. I gave you a 10 second penalty for unsafe track re-entry in the 2nd heat, which dropped you to 6th.

@jammy21:

Sorry to hear about your knee, hope it gets back fine soon.
For us Europeans it's not easy to race in American leagues. In my case practice starts 2:30 am and final race ends somewhere after 5 am. I your case, if I'm not mistaken, it even worse. starting about 3:30 and ending after 6 am. Last Friday I have had a hard time keeping up, been awake for 20 hours when qualifying started :dopey: but some great racing and a bunch of funny guys keeped my awake. I will definitely have a small siesta tomorrow evening 👍
Off topic: I've tried the demo version of PC2. Apart the graphics (compared to GTS), and not having shifter karts, I must say that I'm pretty impressed ;)

@damonc84:

I can't speak for cars, but for karts it's pretty different practicing in arcade vs online, even with same or similar settings. PD may know why, but for me it has been like this since gt5. In arcade I can lap faster and safer, just as a tip ;)

Regarding tomorrows race:

From what I've heard and from what I saw in replays from last 15 minutes race at Brands Hatch, not many of you had to safe fuel. In my case I had to switch the leaning to 3 for a bit more than 2 laps, after that I was able to finish the race on mode 1. Even so, I crossed the finish line with 0% fuel indicated.
For Suzuka East it's gonna be more complicated. Even making 8 laps out of 18 on mode 3, I wasn't able to finish the race without having to save more fuel until the end.
Don't know if it's only due to the characteristics of the track, being almost at the opposite of Brands Hatch, or if last update has modified the fuel consumption.
But for sure, you should give some attention on fuel strategy ;)

Hey guys. I'm hoping to get the results and standings updated in the next couple of days. I don't think there were any incidents to review, at least I didn't hear of any. Anyways here is my stream for those interested in watching, also check out Dylan's stream below mine if you fancy watching a better driver at work,

which replaced Maggiore with Tsukuba.

Great news:tup: not that I don't like Maggiore, but Tsukuba is such a great track for Karts.

Looking forward to next Friday. The most difficult race awaits us. You guys better practice a lot for that. Safe "survival mode" driving should be considered over fast driving. Ending in the sand (or going to the beech as Searays would say) is the worst option there.

Edit: specially the reverse grid race...scary :nervous::D

I just did a quick race in arcade mode there last night. It was a lot more fun than I expected it to be. There are a couple areas that can unsettle the kart dramatically, but if you nail those spots, it shouldn't be to bad. I was on track for a podium, but caught the curb, went flying through the air, and wound up in the sand, still brought it home 4th. Probably going to do a couple more of those races to get accustomed driving in traffic. In all honesty if everyone drives patiently like they did at Suzuka, we should be fine. On the other hand if guys drive like they did at Brands Hatch, then it's going to be a long night.

Don't get me wrong, usually the more difficult the track is, the more I like it. I'm really looking forward for that race. 👍
I do the same kind of practice but in a custom arcade race starting last. The good thing is one can practice to overtake. The bad thing is that AI almost don't make mistakes. But since it is a difficult track, many will make mistakes in the race. One (including myself) can easily spin into an opponent. I think I will adopt the same tactic I had for the reverse grid race on Brands Hatch: No hurry, keep calm :D

Regarding the incidents on Brans Hatch race. It's mostly like that in first race of the seasons, this can even happen in real life. Everyone is hot (in the positive way) and ultra motivated. Mostly things get better from the second race on 👍
Myself I didn't experience any trouble in reverse grid race at Brands Hatch while battling for positions. Maybe because I drove very carefully, maybe it was just luck. Probably a combination of both. ;)

I'm stuck at work until around 9:30 EST. Might make it home by 10:15 if I'm lucky. If i can make anything tonight it'll be the final and not either heat. Figured I'd mention that.

I'll be there. I've only had about 20 minutes of cumulative practice this week, but I'll be there.
