is buying a DFP still worth it?

Its abit different then the GT Wheel itself, and allot different then the G25. the G25 is out of the question for me, due to not making enough money ATM to drop that much money on a wheel, but I'd like to purchase a DFP. My question is, is it still fun w/o clutch, 6speed shifter, and everything magical the DFP comes with? Is their any play in the wheel where the game doesnt reconize the movement? I had a cheap wheel with this problem, and it REALLY ruined the expirence...

This may be my decision thread...

I went through this process about 5 months ago.
I was finding difficulty justifying the price of of a G25, so I bought a DFP.
They are around £70 in the UK.
It took me approx 4 to 5 days of fairly intensive practice to get up to my previous pad speeds, then I went on to get faster.
The DFP is excellent value for money. However the FFB is gear driven, so you can feel a slight notchiness in the movement.
In any geared drive, there will always be a small amount of backlash. This manifests itself as a small dead zone at centre steering. Whether this is a true dead zone regarding the actual steering inputs, I could never actually tell, so it probably isn't.
When time trialling with the Lotus 111R on the London reverse course, there is one particular part of the course which required complete accuracy - it's a fast left/right flick which has walls either side. Particularly here the backlash was extremely annoying, and it felt like it was really making this part of the course difficult.
This was when I decided that I would upgrade to the G25. The G25 is better in every way.
It took me 5 laps of Suzuka to beat my DFP times.
I can appreciate that not everyone is in the position to blow £160 or so on a wheel, so for this reason I would say that if all you can afford at the moment is a DFP, then go for it. It will give you a much better gaming experience than the pad.
When you're done with it, sell it on EBay and get more than half you're money back. Maybe when you can afford the G25 👍

The DFP is an excellent value for your money. 900 degree steering, force feedback, and you can get it used for $60 usd. If you are using it on pc you can always build a separate shifter too.

You would be better off saving up for a G25 as its alot better or going for a DFGT because there going cheap at some shops and are better than the DFP.

If you don't want/can't to spend a lot of money on a wheel, then yes, the DFP is still worth it. The diameter of the wheel is a little smaller than the G25.

And yes it is still fun playing with the 6 speed sequential shifter. The only problem that I had with the DFP were the pot meters. But they were replaced buy better once, so that won't be any problem.

Maybe it worth while concidering buying the DFGT instead?

:)

This makes me so undecided, I'd more then likly end up buying the regular DFP because its cheaper, And the only difference between the DFP and DFGT is the whole Gran Turismo setup with teh controllers, but those really dont bother me, for if you have to change all that stuff halfway through a race, you suck at tuning... I'm not even sure wth is changable with that thing? The only thing I use it for with the Controller is if i'm racing online, end up sucking it up and nock my TCS down so I can drift the rest of the race lmao

the biggest difference between the Pro and GT are the wheel size, the GT and g25 have an 11" diameter whereas the Pro has a 10" diameter.
