Is FGT winnable without babysitting?

I've been putting off doing the Formula GT Championship for ages now as it takes too long. If I just leave my Bob to it though without giving any instructions, is there any chance of him winning it? My highest level Bob is 32 but I've still got the 24H races to do and a heap load of credits to come from the remote races so he should be a bit higher soon!

I only want to do it to complete B-Spec as the prize car for it is crap and the level 21 ticket is crap so there's certainly no incentive there!

Is the condition arrow relevant at all? He's stuck on an orange arrow at the minute and has been for a while.

Yea, it is. You can run him in the short beginner level races until he switches colors. Might take 5-10 races for it to change.

Hey if you get your FGT tuned right, you and your Bobs will smoke any other car out there ( except one lol) anyways like I said it's all about the tuning, just like in B spec Nascar. My tune will get the Bobs to the front in two laps or less and keep them there. Pit early though. I always pit around lap 23-25, giving the Bobs time to catch the ai again and when the ai pits on lap 29, flawless victory.

My level 24 level Bob won overall. Got crushed royally on Cote D'Azur (11th place) and one of the other ones placed around 6th.

I issued about 12 commands for the entire series.

Most importantly, Bob wanted to pit in on the LAST 2 LAPS of Nurburgring GP/F. Yes, 2 separate pit stops, in the span of 2 laps. I told him "Go **** Your self, you're not pitting in again" and he finished 1st there, even though towards the beginning he spun out TWICE and did the gentleman's wait where he doesn't move as he waits for 10 of the 11 cars to pass him.

Oh god thats gonna be a nightmare, nearly 4 hours. My bob better win or he might be lookin at early retirement...

Yeah, I was dissapointed because I thought that the remote racing would allow me to do the races that were already there.
Whatever, I'm not gonna try and complete B Spec anyways.

I've been putting this off as well due to the sheer amount of time it's going to take to complete the championship

I didn't put it off, I held Bobs hand all the way through the championship. At the end of the 2nd to last race I could not be beaten on points, stupidly instead of starting the last race and retiring I just hit 'Quit' instead thinking it would announce me as the winner, it didn't.

When I'm on my death bed and my life flashes before my eyes, i'll wonder what ever possessed me to be so stupid.

Did the same damn thing. LOL

Thanks for the tips, this is one pulled in my "freezed races pool" because I has thinked that will races of very high babysitting (like NASCAR)
One of my bobs is particullary good and his arrow is up ... I will try tonight.

Will see if I can find the time to try this at the weekend. My level 32 Bob has currently got just over 600k waiting to be collected from remote racing so hopefully I'll be around the 800k mark by the weekend meaning that should level him up a bit more!

Actually feel your pain, gutted. Not even attempted it yet, will need to syke myself up for it.

Hahah...aww ****...at least I'm not the only one. I feel better already, thanks. I have had similar things happpen to me on several races. Wife shutting down my machine, pausing game, but accidentally exiting instead of "continue", kid ejecting the disk while I'm playing. Short races I don't mind...but the 2 hours and the 4 hours just just makes me want to cry.

I'm doin mine right now, lv25 bob, using a tune i found on here that maxes downforce ect. Once he gets in front, he usually laps the main group at least twice before lap 24 *when I like to pit*. Something I think that works for me is tweaking gears 1-5 so they're a little closer ratio, and leaving 6-7 alone, then setting the top speed to 249. Seems to work better than just going with the 249 settings. Really I only have to baby sit him through the first 7 laps to make sure he gets a good 1 lap lead, then set my timer according to his lap times, so that I can come back around lap 24, pit him, then set the timer again so I can come back and select next race. Also I don't know if this affects anything, but I use a maxed out "hot" bob.

Are you able to post your settings for this?

I went for it this weekend after having put off this particular race for a long time. I found that my Bob didn't need any babysitting for most races. Cote D Azur always takes some nursing. Bob eventually took the lead and stayed there. I did see where he got one silver on a race I expected him to win. I think it was a poor choice of when to Pit issue. Nevertheless, I got through it winning gold and gladly never having to do it again. There were a few races that he won with the tank on empty. I mean empty. Kinda scary on the last lap but I don't really think the Bob will run out of gas. If I was coding the game, I wouldn't allow that ridiculous scenario.

What I found with these powerful cars with a nervous throttle is that the combination of my Bob (A.Fleming - after Ian Fleming -, Kobayashi, Vettel, M. Schuhmacher, K.Ronkainen - after Rakkinen - and my virtual selft) at a level above 15 + the Formula GT in twisty tracks needs a couple of clicks on Pace Down. If there are elevation changes that cause the F-GT to go airborne even for a little bit, I do Pace Down 3 or 4 times.

I did a race where I had Prototype C and Le Mans cars, all from 2nd-7th were lapped once, 8th twice (787B), 9-12th lapped 3 times (including Team Oreca...).

My experience:

First 2 races were easy. Bob kicked *ss in Fuji and Indy and lapped the entire field both times, so I thought this was going to be a walk in the park :)

It wasn't.

In Cote d'azur, Bob was really pushing for 1st place and on several occasions
nearly made it, until he spun. Didn't drop back because he had a good advantage over 3rd place. After catching up to the leader, he spun again.
And again. And again. After dropping to 6th, Bob thought it would be wise to use the FGT as a Tsukuba drift racer, so in 3 laps he smoked the tires,
thus throwing him back to last place :( An AI mistake gifted 11th, so it was a race to forget.

The Nurburgring was more of the same, having Bob spinning 5 laps in a row in the last chicane (Stupid *sshole, I could drive an F1 car with fewer mistakes).
However, after being thrown back to 10th place, Bob suddenly got the hang of the chicane and started gaining places again. after 5 laps, he was back in the lead :)
pitting in about lap 20 for fresh tires gave bob an advantage of lapping half the field at the end of the race. 1st place again!

Monza was easy, lapping the whole field. Period.

Suzuka saw rain pooring down. Putting on intermediate tyres looked like a good idea, because after about 2 laps, Bob was firmly in the lead, and I do mean firmly, about 50 secs ahead.
So I watched TV for a while, only to discover that Bob dropped back to 9th place, killing his tires and spinning in several curves. Time to pit! Didn't help...Bob was hopelessly lost in the rain.
What started out as a Sennalike race (Donington '93 ;)) turned out to be a public shame for my lvl 26 driver.
In the end, 8th place was the best possible, due to several cars spinning off.

I managed to win the championship, took me about 5 hours. Suzuka really was an endurance in the rain, did last well over an hour...

I'm happy it's done now :)

^^ Nice write-up overall. I just did this with Sir Toke-a-lot's FGT tune and won all of the races up to Suzuka which I just quit.

I had a somewhat similar experience on the Nurb GP course, but a little funnier. My Bob had his share of spin-outs after the chicane, but on at least half a dozen occasions he took the inside on another car and forced it spinning off into the grass while he was gassing it down the straight. We're talking about the kind of stuff that would get you black-flagged, except he did it with impunity to half of the field!

I'm glad this is finally out of the way.

No settings changed. No tuning changes. Bob picked tires. 1st place on all but Cote D'Azur (6th). As long as your bob is a higher level than the race, you can walk away. I was making and then eating dinner while bob was taking care of business.

No tunes will allow you to not have to sit and coach your driver through the races? I will have to try this. I've been putting off these races because I can't find any good tunes. If this is the case, I will finally finish b-spec tonight.

This is an easy win

I stuck bob in a 33,000km old FGT, oil change only.

Issued a few commands on the first lap and that was it, came back 45 mins later and he won each race.

My bob out lasted the car I ran out of gas on indy but still won because I was feet away from the finsh line my Guy still had 3 qurters of mentel and strength
completed in 30 mintes/ no pits:):tup:nice one bob:tup:

i found the best tactic with regards to pitting, is to start bob on softs, then get him into a good lead. If you have the time to baby sit, which i did as i was ill, then keep his mood bar in the middle, or where ever it needs to be so that he drives at his best. then when you get half way through the race, pit him, fill up just enough so that you make it to the end of the race, then get him back to the middle of his mood bar. you should catch up and over take the leaders soon, then you will create a gap and when they make their stop you will have a humongous lead and win with ease :)

and the only tuning i did was downforce and top speed. i think my bob was level 29/30, cant quite remember.

good luck!
