Is it me or is downforce messed up?

Like the title says, is it just me or is everyone finding it messed up?

For instance, I can add 10 downforce to the back of a 500PP Clio and get great results, but playing with big downforce numbers on the FIA GT3 cars doesn't yield anywhere near the same corner speeds.

I have a bunch of 500PP and lower cars that are faster in most corners than 600PP racecars and I can't figure out WTF is going on unless the Downforce isn't really doing what I believe it should be.

It could be doing more than you think and killing the speed or making the car harder to turn. I've found using lower figures is much more effective and the balance of front and rear is critical, too much of either and it has some really bad effects on cornering speed

Naw, I figured it out. It's the terrible game balancing. A 600PP HSV or Zonda R work as expected, but the GT3 cars at 600PP are all heavier, with less mechanical grip, less aerodynamic grip, and less power.

That's why I was all confused.

I was lapping the ring almost 30 SECONDS slower with a GTR-GT3 and I couldn't figure it out. It was slower than my 500PP RS Focus. Who the heck let that slip through?

Lord I hope there's an update on the way with a rebalance of the cars and recalibration of the PP system.

No the GT3 cars are mostly ridiculous regarding PP/performance. Ridiculous meaning slow as hell.
JGTC cars pretty much all have less and will trounce them on every track and every straight and every corner.

How can it be that the FIA GT cars cou
Are you running stock suspension settings?
IIRC the GT3 cars all have high camber angles stock.

Oh lord no. I tune everything.

That's exactly what I'm finding. I found the same to be the case with the XJR 9, at least in the cornering department. I don't understand the thought process that would think a car with massive tires, ground effects, and a massive rear wing, weighing less than 1000kg would somehow not be able to stick the asphalt in a corner.

For example, I lapped Willow Springs in the 1:11's on RH tires with the XJR 9 @ 675PP. I also lapped in the 1:11's with the Focus on RS tires at 548pp. Something is broken there.

ld be THAT far off? It's like they have no downforce and riding on SS tires.

The JGTC cars are all what I would expect a pure race car to be like compared to a street car (except the ford focus)
