Is the handbrake useful?

Do you guys use 'Look Behind' that often?? Whenever I use it, I blow a turn.

I use it all the time. And yes, I occasionally wind up braking too late or missing a turn :guilty: but to me, it's important to see what's happening behind me sometimes...GT3 has such a limited view...I need to know if some Ai are about to try and skew me sideways or ram into me so I can avoid them...

It can help to some degree in high-powered, ill-gripping cars and tight circuits (Mission 34 in GT4, but that's off-topic), but that's what rumble strips are good for too, as well as going off-topic.

In MR cars, the redundancy of the emergency brake is even more pronounced, and in RR cars with poor weight distribution... tete-a-queue!

In life, e-brakes are useful in emergencies, as its name suggests, pulling a car harder to run to a complete stop.

Actually, IRL, the tires have more to do with pulling a car to a stop than the e-brake, or even the normal brakes. E-brakes will not make you stop faster when used in conjunction with your normal brakes. The force exerted by your normal brakes would be sufficient to stop the wheels/tires from rotating and applying the e-brakes at that point will not add to the tire's traction, thus not contributing to stopping the car faster. E-brakes are actually for when the normal brakes fail, that's why they're called emergency brakes, not because they're meant to stop the car faster. Used alone though it just applies pressure to just the rear wheels, so that will also not stop the car any faster.

On-topic. I use it to correct understeer from time to time.
