Is there a fast toyota

I gonna throw this out, cos im stumped. There appears to be a glaring void in toyota armoury in the 390hp range. My benchmark for a fast 390ish hp car is pulling a 1:09 at midfield. Nothing in the toyota lineup can get under a 1:11.5 - the twin turbo '91 supra. MR2s just have no go whatsoever, supras are just so heavy - just what else is there to try? My last experience with celicas was the same as MR2s.

Although the Chasers are pretty heavy, although the soarers are decent enough.

If he's complaining about MR-2s and Supras, I'm disinclined to think that he's in the market for a GT-One, or any such monster. I agree with the Chaser; there's a TRD version - big, white thing with a dumb-looking spoiler. The racing modification makes it look like a touring car, and it's not at all slow for its weight.

Hmmm, I think the TRD 2000GT (that tuner-prize car MR2) deserves another chance. You can get frm 260-500hp with that puppy.

How about the BP/Apex Trueno GT. Yes, it's not easy to win (had to do the GT300 series a few times for it!) but well worth it in the end. Plus, using GT300 cars in that series is probably the best racing found in GT2.

Let's not forget that old '68 2000GT; sure, it's rare and overpriced, but it's fun to drive!

Hey, aint heard from you in a while pupik got to hear from you again. I'll try get my hands on the Apex trueno. True, from what i remember it was quite quick (due to race trim i guess). At the worst it would have led to some close racing to get the damn thing

Havent had a whole heap of joy outta the TRD2000. It looks good and has the stats on paper, but to me just feels off the pace. will keep an open mind about these things tho.

Already got the '68 toyota. One of my favs in the sub 300hp category. Doesnt look too bad with a mod on either. Japans E-type to the rescue!

hey man a good toyota is a altezza 280t ...its around the 450hp mark....do not get a new supra ..they handle like sh#t...and if u really want a fast f$ck of a car, get a toyta aristo, they r like over 700 hp.

if i were u ...i will stick to the nissans, mitsubishis and mazdas ...they r the best Japanese company's.

best cars to do up from them are:

Mazda- Rx-7 type RS..... and the 323gtr( it might not have a high hp but it goes like sh#t).

Mitsubishi-3000gt vr-4 , very strongly recommended.

Nissan-well there r heaps, ..skylines, stick to the r32's because they r cheap...300zx's r good also, 200sx's,

The Tom's T280 is a great car, I quite liked the Tom's T111 as well.

I tried the trueno Apex. That is a **** fast car. did a 1:07.5 at midfield, which for me isnt too far away from trampio country. Tried to win the momo corse MR2, but wasnt awarded it. Thanks for the top drawer suggestion pupik!

PS i gotta 390hp altezza (not hte toms the other one..the RS i think). Barely cracks a 1:10 at midfield

maxed out altezza/chaser/sc300 (turboed)/trd2000gt/supra, maybe a celica gt-4 (i havn tried it)... if u cant pull under 1:10 with these cars then u gotta check ur skills 1st

Perhaps you should check your reading skills first. I said Sub 400hp If you cant pull sub 1:10's with maxed out chasers and supras, then there is cause for worry.

I just recently picked up the altezza RS, before your post. I wish I had seen this first before I spent so much money building it to the max. Really disappointed with the speed although I though the handling was pretty good.

Yea, its performance is a real let down. Just doesnt have any get up and go I dont think ill bother with the Toms Altezza. Looks good, but it has virtually the same stats as the RS.

fuk maan i been tryin hard out to break the 1:10 mark on midfield with a sub-400hp toyota. closest i got is 1:10.266 with a 393 hp supra RZ, managed a 1:09.757 with a 417hp altezza 280T. no race mod tho... but managed a 1:09.4-sumthing with a speed6.... ne1 done ne better with toyotas without race mod??

did a 1:10:8 with the RS at 393hp without a mod. Man does that car suck.

I've got a fully modded Tom's T280 to do 1:07 round the Midfield raceway, I spent some time setting it up just for that track though.
