Is there a way to retire from the race like your can in F1 games?

When you're pole position but keep getting punted off all weekend at Monza you lose the will to live let alone complete the races.

I find understand why the game doesn't allow you to retire or allow autopilot to drive the rest of the race for you?

It's ridiculous that the game doesn't allow you to retire!!!

You can quit any race at any time. Hit Options to pause, then pick Quit.

You will lose a lot of SR and place last - thus losing the most amount of DR possible - if it's a Sport Mode race though.

I want to end my race without being penalised. (Like you can do in F1 2019) and probably other reaching game!

GT Sport uses a zero-sum Driver Rating system. You gain DR from drivers you beat and lose it to those who beat you, and the overall change is zero (except at the very bottom and the very top). If you quit, you're beaten by every driver who didn't quit, so you lose DR to them all.

If you could quit a race at any time without being penalised, everyone could quit if they don't win and never suffer any negative consequences - and prevent the drivers who beat them from advancing.

Yes as it is I've seen as many as 9 drivers quit/dnf out of 19 who started last week at Monza, if you could quit with zero punishment you'd be left with barely anyone more often than not with races like this.

I wish people would not quit so much, just carry on and try to make the best of it. When my race is ruined I always carry on regardless. The only races I've left are when I've been dc'd.

In a race c @ Monza last week in one race only 6 out of 18 finished the race, i never understand the point of racing then quitting, they have one problem/spin in a corner and they think it's over because they cannot win. Far too many think they can enter a race and win all the time and if they cannot they leave losing dr/sr so the next race they may have a chance because of getting into a lower lobby.

Most have no idea about racing and some just cannot handle being overtaken even if they make a mistake. i think if you quit too many times in a day you should be blocked/banned for the rest of the day because at the moment they can quit and have a better chance of a win. Those of us who race know that winning is not everything and a good hard clean race is great and a adrenaline rush, yes wins are nice but the fun is in the chase, for me anyway...

I have finished every race I have started out of self pride. When furious I usually just slide to the back of the pack and start collecting SR points.

I was referring to SR. I don't care much about DR because I recently got a wheel and I suck.

What scares me is losing SR and being demoted to B or below where you'll race with animals!

Don't quit then after an incident then, as that is by far the easiest way to lose SR.

Well unless you intentionally do it by ramming loads of cars/walls and then quit.:mischievous:

Sometimes I like to retire and watch others on F1. Or I'll go get something to eat

I don't want to quit, I want to "retire" (like in F1 2019/ 2020) there is a big difference. Or works in F1 so would be nice if they added or to GT

Same, if I've been hit off I like to carry on. Sometimes pitting for fresh tyres at the end and stealing their FL pisses them off as much as a good revenge punt.

Edit: Unless I hear the cat fighting, then I'm quitting immediately and going to save her ass (this happens too often :banghead:).
