The entire coupe body was rusted way beyond repair from top to bottom. So at that point I figured since I have to replace all the metal anyway, why not build it into the car I have always wanted. 67 Fastback instead of 67 Coupe. So I took 1 rusted coupe and 1 rusted fastback and turned them into 1 67 fully drivable Fastback. When did I say that? Well, I didn't know it was a coupe before I saw u decided to turn it into a racer. That I do appreciate. Turn hard to find cars and stripping them to race them is what I don't like. How are the generations after us supposed to appreciate such beauty if we don't restore a few? But taking a commonplace coupe, for sure. That's what I meant by destroyed.
Oh and also keep in mind when I say its a pro-touring / track race car that means I am building it for street and track. The main focus will be as a daily driver / cruiser. But it will be fully capable to handle road track abuse. Thats how all Pro touring cars are built. So its not going to be "stripped to be raced". Its has full comfort functionality just like my Pro Touring 69 Camaro build. I can daily drive my Camaro with 2 drivers and 2 passengers in full comfort anywhere I want. If I want to drive it for 10 hours straight on a power tour, its can handle it. If I want to abuse the heck out of it at the local road tracks it can handle that too. The Mustang is going to be a very similar build.
