I got my death sentence today. I tried to battle Stage 4 cancer as best I could. But... it won't be enough. Thank you for helping me spread positivity and hope for as long as I could to the world. However. I will be going out a fighter. #ThankYou #ForeverGrateful

That's awful news. Nothing any of us can say will do you justice or comfort but... whatever comfort and enjoyment you can find in your life at this time, I wish you the fullest fulfilment.

Bloody hell mate that first sentence hit me like a ****ing truck. Not the news I wanted to hear.

You've been here for us for 21 years, John, and we're here for you now. My prayers are with you, my friend.

You've done an awesome job with all the sports threads these past several years! Hopefully my Buckeyes can give you a game to remember on Monday.

Sad news buddy. Keep on fighting my man! All of us are behind you!

Jerome

You don't know me.

I don't know you.

But your courage, resilience and positivity for such a bleak outcome has inspired me greatly, as it should all of us. I will remember you, even should you not remember me.

I'm not the one to say it, but for everyone around here: thank you, brave warrior.

John had very detailed sports posts and a very positive demeanor. His presence will be missed. Condolences and best wishes to his family.

@JohnBM01 that's awful news, you've long been a member on here whose posts I've enjoyed reading and you've always seemed to be such a positive character. You will 100% be missed. Thoughts to your family and friends 🙏. It was a pleasure knowing you, even if only through GT Planet.

May John rest in peace. As he often mentions Ridge Racer Type 4 references, I'll do a playthrough of the game to pay tribute.

And maybe a salute lap in either GT7 or FM8.

John was one of the goodest people I've ever encountered on the internet. A thoroughly kind soul. This sucks.

John, although I think I only talked to you a handful of times on here, I've seen a lot of your posts and you always seemed to be a nice person to me. It's been a pleasure interacting with you and I honestly regret not posting here sooner while you were still with us. Rest in peace John, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

I personally don’t know John, and it wasn’t even too long ago that I noticed his update about him being diagnosed of cancer, but I can feel from his posts in the past, no matter in the forums or in status updates, his sanguineness when facing adversity and, lately, his efforts to survive even as his end looms, which I find very impressive. This can sound quite superficial given that I don’t really know him well, but the fact he posted here in the final moments of his life probably shows how important of a role GTP and its community played in his life, and I feel the best and most appropriate way for me to pay tribute is only to say: Thank you, John, both for being a part of the community and for your words of encouragement to everybody in the Depression thread. May you rest in peace, free of suffering and regrets, and may your close and beloved ones find solace and strength to continue with their lives.

Not long after making the thread? ****, that sucks. I don't know what else to say without it being laced with profanity. **** cancer.

RIP, John.

Your elite positive spirit will forever be ingrained on here John. Will always remember the positivity you showed in all the adversity you had faced. Shows how short and unpredictable life really is, will try and cherish every day as tomorrow may never come.

For anyone who is suffering, keep fighting. Whatever it maybe, don't let it win as John would say.
