Jaguar XJ220 Road Car..

This may have been posted before, but when the XJ, is just sitting there, the rev needle is at 2000RPM, isn't it supposed to be on the 1000RPM? Like every other car?

Maybe the XJ220 idles at 2000rpm. I doubt anyone here has driven one, so we'll never know.

I have a black one. I never lok at the Rev counter, so I don't know.

What daan said. All cars idle at different speeds - check an F1 car.

My own (real) car idles at 1500rpm while the automatic choke is active, and a little under 650rpm the rest of the time.

Yeah, you don't expect every single car ever made to idle at 1000 do you? I can'y say what my car idles at because Buick doesn't know what a tach is, BASTARDS!

Almost a year later...

The stock XJ220 revs a 2000 rpms.
