Source: Article claims March 25th release date for Japan

Article text:

Geostore, a Japanese retailer, may have leaked release information for God of War III, Gran Turismo 5, and God of War Trilogy.

God of War Trilogy is a bundle of God of War Collection plus God of War III for 7,849 yen ($85). A standalone copy of God of War III goes for 4,784 yen ($52) at Geostore. Sony seems keen on double game packs since a 7,980 yen ($87) Uncharted Twin Pack with Uncharted 1 and Uncharted 2 is on deck for February 18.

All three titles are scheduled to ship on March 25, according to Geostore. The Gran Turismo 5 listing was quickly pulled, but not before other sites could paste the release information.

Nothing major I suppose, we all know it's coming in March anyways. This however suggests it's coming at the end of the month rather than the start, for those who care.

-> Hmm, looks suspicious...but its still sketchy. I won't go jumpy until the official release is announced. :indiff:

All I'm waiting for now is for freaking YesAsia to put a listing for the game so I can pre-order it, grr... It's driving me nuts over it :P

To be honest this isn't actually a thread that should be locked. Pretty much what we've been told and even backed up by the pictures on Christmas day.

If I orders a japanese version obviously it would have japanese text. If I started my career with this version would my game saves work with a pal version when released or could there be problems. I know it might be a noob question but that is because it is.

Didn't the date of 31st March come up (from Kaz/PD) somewhere soon after TGS 09?
You'd think with the release so soon, a firm date would have been given by now.

It's plausible, as is any date you care to mention from March until the end of the year. If it is March though, it was always going to be towards the end...

haha... it would be really ridiculous if the Japan version was out,
and a European and American release date wasn't even announced.

I'll probably be importing since the game's out in Japan in March but not Europe/America until Summer, I really don't fancy waiting a few months.

If we don't get a release date by March then i'll be going Chinese in the hope that some English is in the game.

not likely mate, and the Chinese version sucks. Chinese GT5 prologue is still in spec II at the moment. :scared: I live in Hong Kong and don't even play the local version, instead I play the US version.

I believe the HK/JPN version will get released around march but I may not get it. I want an English version instead of Japanese so I can have a better understand about the customisation of your car etc.

I'm starting to feel quite confident about 25th March for EU...

- As per the OP - JP retailers have started to list 25/03

- gameblog.fr date of 25/03

- As posted above, amazon.co.uk are now giving a UK shipping date of 24th or 25th March.

- The OPM article cited in another thread and the Brussels auto show gives the impression that Sony are upping their marketing effort, which would fit with "2 months to go"

- The TT challenge is obviously a marketing based initiative. Phase 1 ends in January - Phase 2 through Feb / early March, with winners announced to coincide with launch?? The marketeers won't want too long a gap between the TT challenge as attention will wander and any marketing benefit will be lost...

- March 25th would be just in time for the Easter Holiday break (kids break up 26/03)

My fingers are crossed.

Possibly true, financial year runs between April to April, Sony probably want a boost at the start of a new financial year.

Well today EB games changed their release date from the infamous 2/2/2010 to 11/1/2010. So maybe the regional release plan is Japan/EU/NA

Yes I'm hoping this is a misprint and my long time wish is a world wide release.

And a joint JP / EU launch, with NA later, would fit with the marketing strategy employed for the TT demo - seemed curious at the time that NA weren't included in the GT_Academy element.

GameStop owns EB Games, so when one of them changes their date, the other will closely follow. Having worked for GameStop in the past, their dates don't really hold any truth. I've seen them change all the way up to a week before a game was "supposed" to be released.

Regardless of what releases where and when, I'll be waiting for the EU version.

Same. The EU release is always slightly different, at least we'll get a version with slightly more cars, slightly fewer glitches, the possibility of region specific vehicles or race events that couldn't be licensed outside of Europe. Just my thoughts, we probably won't get any of that, but i'm holding my money back for the EU release, just incase :P

Really? Oh ok then. I thought Kazunori said Europe/American releases were in the hands of SCEE and SCEA and they said it won't hit until Summer if I remember correctly.

They never said it would be delayed til summer, that was just speculation based on previous GT releases. PD never stated an official release for NA or PAL regions. Its likely we won't get it until summer, but it's not confirmed.

You know somebody at PD is watching these boards and just laughing. "Hmmm what kind of bone can we drop into the ring today." Maybe a screen shot. Hmmm maybe a friend of a friend of a friend saw something.

Question: Who has a trick or a tip to remain calm in the 'ring'?

Sounds logical, but I don't really believe in retailers dates. I'm just waiting for dates of official anouncements or stuff shown at shows to come.

Yep, personally, I find it funny when the retailers guess the release date of our games. Could make a board game out of it.

When the release date is official, it'll be heard from: Kaz, Official GT website, a Sony marketing bloke, not a retailer that knows no more than the consumer does.
