The GT ASSOCIATION (GT-A) announced 23 May that the All-Star race in China scheduled for Shanghai on October 4 to 6 (Chinese national holidays) will take place at Zhuhai Circuit instead of on the streets of Shanghai as originally planed. Concerning the other All-Star event planned for this season, to be held in the USA, the GT-A confirmed that the event will go ahead at California Speedway from December 17 to 19 as scheduled.

28 cars will compete in the Chinese event, selected according to results gained throughout the 2003 season, and including 2004 series points gained until Round 4 at Tokachi. gHowever, we are keeping negotiations open with the promoter to hold an event in Shanghai in 2005h said Jiro Kaji, Executive director of the GT-A.
For the All-Star race in the USA, the GT-A will select 25 cars from entrants who have competed until Round 5 of the 2004 series at Twin Ring Motegi. gWe are hoping to accept around 10 local entries in addition to the cars we bring from Japan.hsaid Mr Kaji.
In addition to the above criteria, factors such as the variety of cars, a popularity vote from the fans, achievements in the past, as well as the wishes of local promoters will all be taken into consideration.

Yeah, Fontana this year... and Laguna Seca the next (I hope)! I mean, come on now. The Laguna Seca course is about one of the only pure road courses the world cares about other than Sebring and Road Atlanta. And why not give them a night racing try? If the ALMS is going to do it this year, why not them too? The California road course is alright, but Laguna Seca... why not bring Gran Turismo 3 to real life? Good news for the JGTC to race in America, but they need challenge.
