This is the 3rd and final pre-season challenge. Here you have the choice to either run in the racing class you really want to be for S2, or submit in both to really see where you stand in the field.

Precedent seems to indicate no one around here would consider running anything but +10 on difficulty.

If the consensus is that the AI should be set to +10, then that is how I will run.

What tyres do the AI have to use?

Sorry for the questions but it makes a big difference to the way the AI behave through the race.

(WRS experience tells me so)

Neil,

In season 1's races we've run AI +10 and put them on RM tyres. You're welcome to run that way to get an idea of how the AI will behave in future races.

But ev4l seems to have given us the choice because it is quite difficult to pass the AI without any sort of touch when they're +10. Because these challenges have to been completely clean (unlike races where inadvertent, small touches are ok) I think I'd run the AI at a lower level, just to be sure of clearing them cleanly.

But it is your choice.

Use any tires you want, for you and the AI, and any difficulty number as well. This is more about how consistent can you be on 3 laps over messing around and racing against the AI.

I found running the AI's at -6 with RM's,I could get by them without problems in turn 1. Tried -10 and got bungled up in turn 1. It's just trial and error to find the best setting for each driver.Just wish you didn't have to go all the way back to the beginning to make a small change. for the AI's.

I haven't had a go at it yet either (in fact I haven't tried any of them yet) but I would suggest treating it like a WRS and getting past the AI as quickly as possible would be the way to go.

(Especially judging from ev4l's post above)

OK, if no-one minds, I would like to submit two times to EV4L.

The reasons behind this are,
that in my initial entry request I stated that I didn't mind in which class I was placed,
that I have a bit of racing time to spare cos the WRS is in rally mode this week,
And,
It's so much fun! 👍

Then if EV4L needs to balance numbers for team allocation reasons, I can go in either class!
Reasonably good GT300 or Slowish GT500, or maybe I'm being optimistic?

a bad back,
sore knees,
60's lsd flashbacks,
perminant short-term memory loss(whatever the cause),

It would be quite competetive!

Anyway just prattling on as us bad tempered old gits tend to, carry on, carry on, nothing to see here!

I'm having a rough time passing the AI

turn them down to -10 and put them on super hard racing tires, thats what im doing

i ran them on AI -6 and racing hard tyres and had them all passed before T1, just a matter of picking your time to pass and also to be absolutely hauling the mail past the slow buggers... from memory i passed 5th on the first corner, 4th up the hill, 3rd up the right hand side on the long left-right section, 2nd up the left hand side (avoiding going over the big concrete area) and then hitting the apex of the right hander before T1, and driving up the inside of whoever was in 1st...

I know I should know better..BUT...oldphart questioned the cement areas(turns 4 & 5 I believe) as to their legality...sooo? I know they're illegal in the WRS but I can't recall the ruling here....any help...or scolding?
