Congrats Voltron! But now I am suspicious..... How do you two have first laps 2 seconds quicker than me? Are you starting from the back of the grid? This is rather strange... oh well, congrats guys, and I was overwhelmed by the huge turnout this time

What the!!!! YESSS!!! Damn, there's definitely still another second or so to come off my time... guess I shouldn't laugh though.

About the fast first laps... don't know what to tell ya except I was always able to surpass the pack at the first corner because I had the initial acceleration nailed.

UGH! What happened to "Just submitted my times but I don't think they'll be good enough for first cause Fury seems to be flyin in his Impreza and frentzey's got the RX-7... just didn't get the time I'd hoped for "

I think all of that is some devious plan of yours to get us to feel more confident about our runs and submit our times without trying to hard.......

Anyway, from looking at the times, I have been able to figure that there would have been no way I could have beat you. A 1'47.8 is just about the best I can run in this car, maybe a 1'47.6 but thats about it. Even if I had identical 2nd and 3rd lap times, it wouldn't have been able to beat that 1'47.2 of yours.

frentzey, I'm assuming that the reason for the faster first laps from us is because of the superior accelaration of our cars. I know the Impreza gets off the line quick, as I was able to get ahead of the pack before the first turn. But to my knowledge, the RX-8 is a bit slow in accelaration, thanks to the wider gear ratios. I could provide sector times of my first lap if you want.

Ok, I'll explain. I honestly felt I would have been slower than someone at least. I guess I still had too fresh in my mind the 5 second whooping I received at Monaco with the Integras. I felt I had improved my line here a little but wasn't sure I was going to be as good as you. Felt I was still rough through the second to last 'chicane' as well as other places. Also, I was running 1'46s in free run after hours of work and so hoped on maintaining those times for the race. Also, I ran with the Impreza a couple times and felt it was an even match for the Z. Well, there you have it... but that is a nice little tactic you bring up. Maybe I WILL use it somehow . . . 😈

Well its probably too late to try and pull a strategy like that now. That is, unless frentzey is planning a surprise bonus round or something next week..........
