My dfgt dpad is a PITA to get to while coming out if a tight turn on the edge of grip. The cars are evenly matched. I should just assume if I go into a corner with a car on my side. It will still be there on the exit.

Actually I wish they had something like Kinect in Forza where you can turn your head and the view on the screen turns accordingly, nicer to do than tapping a button.
Or even better, have a race car with a rear view monitor like this:
And while we're on the topic of driver views, the cockpit views from most cars in GT5 are too darn high.
