a 1/4 mile is 402.3 meters if you run the test at a 1/4 it will be slower then if you switch it to meters... and mile is 1609.3 meters, if you do it one way its slower then the other... we are all doing times under mph and miles not kmh and meters...

The math checks out when changing between 400m and 1/4 mile.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Take trap speed, convert to m/s. Divide 2.336 by speed in m/s.

Add result to 400m time. Get 1/4 mile time. It isn't ever off by much, and certainly not by enough to say that the "1/4 mile" is actually 405m... Because if that were the case, the difference would be larger than the ~.020 or so @ 160mph, it'd be about double that.

Not trying to hurt anyone or anything, did you know that the "1/4 Mile" is actually 405m, not 402.6 like it's supposed to be

i have noticed this too as when i do a time using miles my car will get a whole length past the 400 line for the run to register as 1/4 mile.

I just realized that I screwed it up. 1312 feet and 4 1/32 inches is 400m in american measurements. I didn't put in the other part that a 1/4 mile is about eight feet more. Thanks for the help!

The way it actually registers it is weird as hell... But again, the math for the actual time difference works out.

Once I used my mom's van. The whole gauge cluster was digital and for some reason there is a button that switches the units from standard to metric and vice versa. This was unknown to me at the time. I was driving along with traffic when I glanced at my speed and was shocked to see how fast I was going. Even more so at the fact that I was getting passed! I was going over 100. I slowed down so I wouldn't get pulled over and was getting passed real bad so I sped back up to keep pace with the rest of the traffic. It took me a few minutes to figure out what the 🤬 was going on. I was confused beyond belief as to why everyone was in such a hurry. There are no words to describe the relief I felt when I found out about the button. So now I can tell people my mom has a van with a magic button that makes it go faster:lol:

Hahahaha, reminds me of my first official motorbike driving lesson, I was told to drive in front, after a few minutes the girl driving behind me was driving waaaaayyyy behind, a few minutes earlier I was annoyed by the fact that she only drove 50 km/h on a 80 km/h road. My headseat came alive, my instructor called: "Oh Sjef, by the way, I guess you know by now that you're bike is imported from the US, so you're seeing mph iso km/h"..
WHoops, my bad :-)

And there is NO possible way that the C4 WRC could be inaccurate since it is a car made in the same game, by the same people that you claim screwed up the 1/4mile and 1 mile distances.

Sorry but I believe PD over a car.

Actually, since they made the car, they might have or might not have made it accurate. Car says 405m. I believe the C4 WRC more than I'd believe PD since PD made more mistakes in measuring distances and speeds in the game than the individual car has.

I'm still wondering if what I said below is right and explains why the 1/4mile reads as 405m in the C4 WRC, as noone has commented or corected me or was what I said so stupid it wasn't worth being acknowledgeby anyone  :dunce:

I just messured the 1/4 mile distance with the C4 WRC my self to see if this was true, but I was able to get the time to pop up at 404meters so 1 meter less than 405. But its very close to 405m

Then I had a thought, but I think my math is wrong here. (Which it probably is but I dont mind making myself look stupid )
I rolled my back wheels to be where my fronts would be at the start.
That was a 2 meter distance.
So if you take out that extra 2 meters the distance the nose of your car has to traval from the start to the finish to register a time would be 402 meters?

I'm probably wrong with my calculation here but oh well
