Just an old-fashioned Event Generator thread....

(note: before this gets locked, I looked on the GT2 Reference Guide Thread: Nothing about this. so you know....)

Well, in excitement of amar212's "Fiest (insert reference to Flyleaf's I'm So [Sic]k here) of the Gods" tease in The GT5 thread, I decided to go back and play me a little GT2. I have a save game and I was switching back and forth in arcade mode between my home garage, a (tuned) '95 Corvette ZR-1 and a (tiny bit more tuned) skyline GT-R V-spec, ripping runs. then I decided to pop in the simulation disc and earn some more bread in the event generator.

I jumped in the skyline, picked normal, and away I went. I thought my first race i was going to blow the field out of the water.

then came the bell.

I thought to myself, man, for the AI being (allegedly) Crappy, they are sure giving me a fight.

at the end I placed fifth. Fifth.

as you can imagine, it just got worse from there.

third. Fourth. Fifth. even Sixth a couple times.:ouch::ouch:

I didn't even finish second until my sixth or seventh race (I may be wrong; I lost count after one).

finally I won one on Normal on my tenth (again, educated guess here) at red rock Valley. but i noticed something on the end of the first lap. i crossed the line first, but i pushed the look behind you button I noticed the rest of the field had almost a full second from the time we reached the main straightway until the S/F line

I Thought one thing: Catch-up effect. not as bad as Ford vs. Chevy (the CUE was so bad in that game that I took it back the next day. worst $10 I have ever spent on anything in my entire life), but still

so, did the same thing happen to you when you where playing EG. tell me your stories!

It's been so long, but I remember doing a few of these. Getting smoked by the Ai in some races, and I mean SMOKED. It seems to depend on whatever car you enter, mostly. Sometimes you get smoked, sometimes you scrape a close win, and sometimes you kill the Ai.

What cars showed up when you did your races?
