I went back in 2009, I cant remember the name but you need to find this street that has a steep downhill and has like 25 clubs hanging off it. That is the place to be at night!

Also make sure you take the ferry to macau, defintley worth a day visit, It has a lovely tower that you can go up + some of the most epic casino's in the world.

Anyway I spent the whole week pretty much drunk so the details are blurry, but I did have an epic time!!

Swear I made a thread about it, but cant seem to find it. But here is the link to more pics

awesome fryz, saved the pic, gonna go run around and molest some hong kong people asking them where the heck that road is lol

macau was already on my list, looking forward

Check out the Symphony of Lights for sure, on the water bank of Hong Kong Island. It's free for all to watch and really impressive.

Also where are you staying? Because Chungking Mansion is a really good place for cheap hostiles and food.

The walk of stars is a good way to kill ten minutes, also along the river bank somewhere, and be sure to check out The Peak as the sun goes down. It's amazing and only costs a bus fair to get up there.

If you find yourself bored why not jump on a quick flight to ChongQing and I'll meet you for a beer? That would require a visa though so if you don't have a visa for China that would be out of the question.

Don't forget to hit this place. Very famous for their roast goose. Reservations are needed 7 days in advanced, so don't delay! http://www.yungkee.com.hk/history/history-e.html

That's always exciting to go over to a remote region where you have never visited in your earlier life man.. I think you can hang out to make an eating tour at a prestigious restaurant after another, though I've never been to Hong Kong to confirm what stretches in my sights there...

And as for local GTPers who can help you to gain tips about the streets or places, I'm sure onboy knows something about them. ;)

Hostiles, Shem? Chris is a supahstah!

Nothing like roughin' it in HK.

Great if you do not value your life. ;)

See above comment.

I've stayed in the aptly name 'hostiles' more than once and they're always a good laugh. I doubt while I'm there there's anyone more drunk and lairy than me anyway!

what are hostiles? i know what "hostile" means but got no idea what "hostiles" and shem are ...? im still recovering from the cold i cought back in austria, so i guess on monday ill start checking out HK like a boss :P

keep the ideas coming :D

I think he means Hostels.

Ah hostels ok, ill message RUE, just remembered that I sent a msg back in september when I initially planned on going there.
Monday I'm just gonna hit the city center then go to dinner in the evening with my parents

You are in a prime location. You can get about anywhere on the island in short amount of time. You are only about 6 to 10 minutes to Central and Wan Chai where everything is. Even to get to where I live on complete opposite side of the Island is only about 30 minute, maybe a little more if you like beaches.

ah cool, didnt know that the area i live in is so close to the city center. If it wasnt for my damn cold i would be out now but i wanna recover 100% first.

Always wanted to go to Hong Kong, wonderful city, move there if Japan hadn't already taken my heart. :embarrassed:
Just gorgeous.

correct me if im wrong, but that huge tower on the right, i believe, is the building im living in. (parents apartment)

That's 2 International Finance Centre. There is no residential accommodation in it. :)

It might be fun to visit a big city once in a while for a short period, but living in one isn't as enticing as you think. Unless you're rich, you most likely won't be able to own or drive a car, be living in a tiny apartment, always feel crowded, and job competition is tough.

I've lived and worked in Hong Kong before. Not exactly fun when it's 9am to 9pm and took me 1.5 hours to commute each way, plus half-day on Saturday, for half the wage I get for the same job back in Canada working 9-5.

But that's just my opinion.

Just go to the bar's in Lan Kwai Fong and Wanchai and you will be taken care of ;) Also make sure you do a cross harbour ferry journey at night.

Most epic shot of HK skyline....

It's true, you have to be stupidly rich to live how you would live in a more spread out country. Big apartments on HK island cost upwards of $7 million and if you want an actual house you better own a multinational corporation!

You mean we gave china HK back so china could consider it not part of china?
