Just got FM3: Your questions answered ...

I can't get the 2nd Disc to install, I was this close [_] to throwing the whole game out the window followed by the Xbox. I cleared 8 GB of space and the box says you only need 3 GB. I just played the game for about 3 hours and tried again and it still doesn't work - MICRO$OFT I HATE YOU!!!

Anyway impressions of the game are mixed. I noted some things down while I was playing:

- Slow load times
- The rev and brake squeak at beginning of race is really annoying and gives you about 1/2 a second to get the throttle at the right place before the green light goes on
- Horrible, horrible car models in the select car screen
- Basically the same cars as the last game apart from some new racing cars (Particularly disappointed by this)
- Slow Auction House loading times
- Lots of wheel companys but a poor selection of wheels
- Changed some of the buttons in the vinyl editor (Why?)
- Presentation looks good but it still feels rough round the edges

I don't think the models are "horrible, horrible", at all. Sure you're not just used to GT's representation of the car select screen? (And yes, I agree it's a copy of GT's, but I like that.)

And your 2nd point would be more valid had you installed your 2nd disc. There are 127 brand new cars to the game that weren't in FM2, 82 of which are street cars.

Good call. I lean towards American cars, so I am going with my gut...even though the other cars are better. I wish they would have put in the Chevrolet Beat instead though.

Rue, I don't want to insult your intelligence here but when you inserted the disk to be installed it should show a small bar on the screen as if it's installing. However you actually need to press A to confirm the installation.

Hm, that reminds me, maybe you can do a true F20/F22 swap (S2000) into a Civic now. You could do it before but it made it RWD. You can easily drop in one of the F motors in my car and it bolts right up to the tranny. Very similar block. Main difference is the head...But in real life its not a cost efficient swap since the F20's parts are pretty expensive.

I wish drivetrain swaps were actually as expensive as they are in real life to make people actually work for that...If you can make the Aveo have a ZR1 engine and be RWD for under $40k worth of parts and labor, its a little ridiculous.

For the sake of research I bought the Aveo for 9000, the engine swaps available are the I4DSC Chevy Cobalt (FWD 8400CR) and the V8 - Corvette C5 Z06 (FWD, 13800CR)

Drivetrain can be swapped to RWD

Aspiration can be swapped to a single turbo, or a centrifugal supercharger.

I'm not sure if the drivetrain and aspiration swaps stick to other motors, I can buy the V8 if you want me to though, I'm not exactly hurting for money (just over 2mil atm)

I can give the MS wheel feedback shortly, I'm using my controller while I test my drift tunings.

It is true, yes. There is no 'pick your region' in this game, you just get to choose from a list of cars as your first one for free. It works better like this IMO as you now get discounts based on how much you drive each particular brand.

mines 904hp, 789lb-ft torque with a twin turbo on the z01 engine swap... its impossible to drive though. i did make it RWD too
i tried a 1/4 mile drag with it and i had wheelspin the whole way down, 13s

I haven't played GT since GT4. I mean the little static front 3/4 picture of the car in the bottom left hand corner. The front of the cars always looks screwed up, the actual moving models are great.

Yes! Selection of cars is far better with the installed content. I wish they did have a few older Euro/Japanese motors though.

It works now, I simply used the old wipe the DVD on the sleeve of your shirt trick and BINGO!

I'm liking this game more and more now. I could spend ages in the livery editor and storefront thing. In fact I think I will.

I would guess to get the VIP cars you have some code packaged in the LCE box that needs entered on a screen in the XBL marketplace. It'll say something about Redeem Code. It won't be anything specific to Forza or anything.

the FC? lessee what we got here, engine swaps to the R2TT (RX7 Spirit R) or R3TT (Mazda 3 rotor) cannot change aspiration (turbo), it has a single turbo.
only the Border - StreetHood is available for it (really? no forza style? o.0)
the rear wing is debatable I wont judge.
225/50R16 is the widest on the rear, from 205/55R16

bought an ACR Viper just for you - available aspiration is:
twin turbo,
twin screw supercharger,
centrifugal supercharger.
so yes, you cant single turbo it but you can add a pair of testes to it in the form of twins

can also engine swap for a V10 and AWD conversion

So the rear wing will make down-force then? Cause in FM2 you could put it on there but no tuning was available for it.
Also I find it odd that they didt update the tire sizes....my friend with no modification on his 7 gets 245/?R17 on the rear oh well 👍

And as for the Viper thanks its good to know so I know how many of those damn things im buyin
Oh and one more thing....Can you map the clutch to the Y button?(fingers crossed)

I don't know if you are Gold, but... ¿can you tell us anything about online modes? Really there aren't private lobbies?

I find the "pro mode" easier, I can't place exactly whats different with the physics though. I do find them NOT realistic in many situations though.

I don't have XBL and I'm not interested in getting it.

The clutch is annoying, as in my car I don't clutch with my finger, and it feels like its a button even though I have it mapped to a trigger, I want to be able to feel my clutch!
