Just played GTPSP for the first time... GT5 can learn with it.

I'm playing GT5 almost every single day since release date... I've played all the games from the series but I was missing on GTPSP. So, last night I finally got a PSP Go for me and got GTPSP...

I am LOVING it. It's so clever on doing what it was supposed to do: give you fun moments with GT, without much trouble or complicated stuff.

But, what is already old talk that GT5 misses some stuff and what really made me love it was doing some runs on Costa di Amalfi, Citta di Aria using the interior view... I seriouslly hope PD implement that correct interior view on GT5 standards, that let you actually see the rest of your car in GT5... and bring those tracks...

And the prize system for arcade races! That's so simple and so great! I'm joining the boat of people that want paid arcade races! That gives us endless possibilities!

A 4 car battle in Citta di Aria was so amazing, even with stock cars. It was a blast...

It's a very nice thing to have both games... seems that they complete each other. Sorry if I should be posting this on GTPSP area, but I wanted to share my feelings with fellow GT5 players. :)

Any of you still play with it, together with GT5?

GT:PSP was the sole reason I bought my PSP right after launch. Joke was on me to have to wait so long to actually get it.

It's nice to see someone else having the PSPGo, in my opinion the best PSP ever made.

I'm still getting used to the button placement because I got big hands... it's tricky!

Having GT on your pocket is a curse. A regular number 2 now takes 30 minutes. Boss will not like.

Soooo true, i jailbroke my psp so i can play game boy and NES games so it takes 50 min :sly:

I agree that it is a fantastic game, I love going back on some of the tracks missing from GT5 but I only really play it when downloading a large update or when I'm not near the PS3.

The only thing I didn't like was how long it takes to get money without going round the test course which means I haven't got any of the more expensive cars, but I still have fun with the cheaper ones. It's certainly a challenge getting all tracks to class S though when you mainly run races of about 30-45 minutes.

Sadly, I jailbroke my original PSP-1000 for "other" reasons. I realize now how much doing that ruined games for me.

After selling the PSP-1000 and getting the PSPGo, I also sold my 20+ games only to have to repurchase them from PSN.

I was really angry to see that the PSVita was not a download only game system.

Well if you have a jailbroken psp with gtpsp you can find the debug mode, but i still am trying to activate it because you can add all cars to your garage... only if i knew how to activate it, and for some reason my money hacks dont work???

Drift events are one of the best money spinners in GTPSP. head to the GC rally track and just throw a car around it for 20 mins or so and watch the money come in.

Scaff

I support the idea of GTPSP interior views. One of the best ideas PD ever had.

They really make you feel inside THAT particular car even if the interior is blacked-out.

I was driving the old Alfa Spider on Costa di Amalfi. With that long hood. Oh God... so good feeling.

And one more thing I saw: for Gods sake, why they removed the interiors on convertible standards????!

Really I think PD should have just ported GT3 to PSP. That would have been lots of fun.

GT1 on PSP is great as well.

how, if you know please tell me, i have spent over 10 hours looking and i cant find it, and yes my psp is jailbroken with 6.60 PRO B9

We better not talk about this on this thread. I've never tried but I saw it running on a friend's PSP.

Paid arcade would be ok... A-Spec Event Creator would be much betters.

As it stands right now, you can go to arcade, pick any course with the weather option, make it rain, put the difficulty on the highest settings, and jump into your race only to find that the system has given the A.I. Sports Hard tires! They creep around the track like a slow model train.

COME on maannnnnn. :ouch:

Yeah, I would love if they kept the full agressivity with those sports hards on the rain... lots of accidents and 360s... :)

I love when I see the AI fail, not being slow, but fail like a human would... grass, slippery surfaces, bad braking, etc.

Agree! GTPSP was the reason I also bought a PSP. I'm amazed by that little game and never expected it to be so great.

The event system that GTPSP has is exactly the Event Generator that GT5 needs in Arcade mode.

Other things that are obvious is the interior views. I still can't figure out why PD didn't put this type of interior view in GT5's standards. Even though it's all blacked out, you can still see the nose of the car. If you have the Mustang cobra R, compare the PSP interior view with GT5's. You'll see a huge difference.

I'm guessing the same reason you cant get close to a standard with a camera, they probably just looked too bad that close and big.

No, taking pictures is a whole other story and has a lot to low resolution textures on the standard cars, which do not look very nice up close(there just isn't that much information in that data to support it). The in car view in GT5 for standards is actually like the half assed versions from the GT PSP. Notice that the interior silhouette matches the car but you do not get the outside of the car modeled along with it which make you feel like you are flying around in a dark bathtub. This needs to be fixed long with the camera view when you look around from outside the car, it snaps to a side view from the car which is disconcerting when you are driving in 3rd person.

I enjoyed the PSP version, but I can't deal with the digital brake and gas stuff, makes driving a bit of a need for speed type of affair, lots of tapping really quickly to mimic gradual throttle application.

That is what I am saying. It was probably a bit too low res to have the exterior parts that show so big and close on your screen.

I just play the PSP version when I need some of the original tracks.

Thanks for the tip, I remember I used to drift quite a bit on Chamonix but didn't realise it gives that much money, I was just trying to get as many cars as I could over 30,000 drift score. I guess Grand Canyon could get a higher amount of money. Now I'm just cycling through the days to get the Gillet Vertigo which should keep me occupied for a while.

Any way you look at it, no matter how bad it looks, a visible car looks better than an invisible car. You usually only see a tiny bit of car anyway, and you're already looking past a black cardboard silhouette to boot. Seeing a jaggy hood is suddenly going to be too much and force everyone to shut the game off and go vomit?

The same holds true for photos -- I am quite capable of deciding for myself whether I think the car looks good or not from any given angle. Why doesn't it stop me from zooming in on non-car elements that look far worse than any car? And we get to see the cars that close anyway during replays and the main menu scenes, so it's quite clear that at times they look horrible and at others they look just fine.

The standard-haters still hate them just as much without close-up photos and jaggy cockpit views anyway.

WHOA! Your comment sums exactly my feelings... a ugly hood being shown is better than none.
