When i first started playing this game i was using all assists.ABS,High TCS,Stability Control and to be honest the game felt really unresponsive or what you would say lag.

I started to get better so i turned the TCS Low,ABS on and i turned Stability Control off and yet the game still felt a bit laggy.

Well tonight i got brave and decided to turn everything off and holy cow it was like a light switch had been turned on.The cars felt more responsive and that lag that people feel was all but gone.

I was racing one of the Old versus New events and i beat one of my old times by nearly 2 seconds. To beat it all i ended up being .115 or something off of my regions fastest laptime on Laguna Seca's Old versus new event.I never knew i could be that much faster by just turning all of the assists off.It shed new light on this game for sure.

For those who feel this game is not what it's cracked up to be take a whack out of driving with no assists. You'll be glad you did. :)

lol, you have to have assist OFF, it makes a racing game so much better. I just have stability on, but I've been thinking about turning it off

Since I've had my G27 less than a month the only thing I have on is the Steering assist. I briefly tried it without and I couldn't even keep it on the road on the straightaways :guilty: Couple of questions for the people who have it off, does it take a lot of time to get use too and does it make you faster and the game better without it on?

Add a little bit of deadzone (2/3%) in the options and you should have a much easier time controlling the car down a straight. Good luck.

I've noticed that you really have to hold on to the wheel in this game.I've found in some cars, like the Bugatti Veyron, that you have to keep a death grip on the wheel on fast corners or you'll be in the wall in a hurry.

I would turn steering assist off.I remember when i tried using it that i was the opposite,i couldn't keep my car on the road with it on.

It took me a while to get used to the handling, plus it took me a while to get the perfect setting for my wheel and i've had the game since launch. The only problems i have now is that certain cars i'm just not that good with,Porche 911 GT3 for me.What i would do is find a car or cars that you find easy to drive and learn with them, then when you start to feel comfortable,go with some more difficult cars.

I can recommend having assists off. Set the handling to elite mode, I just have ABS on. Using a G25 wheel I set the stearing deadzone to 2% (I used some settings from another thread). I don't confess to being an excellent driver but when I first started playing this I was using some of the assists like stabilty control, traction control and ABS with the standard wheel settings. I couldn't control the cars (they would understear and then go into a sudden overstear) and was about to give up playing this until a patch came out or something. Then I came on here and found some very helpful settings and now the cars handle in a way that they actually go round corners by the same amount I stear the wheel.
