Hey all,

Can't believe I didn't get this game earlier...

I just bought a 1194 Mitsubishi FTO GPX, and modified it a bit....the usual tuneups, but I was wondering what should I get next?

checkout the tuning garages do a review on one of there cars and then you can get a custom setup...and a hell of a good car to test

And I have a ready setup for it at Mad FinnTuners, MFT for short. feel free to try it out. and after trying it outand making a review, you can request a setup.

And to answer his question, what should he get next? I'd say a Holden Monaro- but that's me. Maybe you should get a Cadillac CIEN, awesomely fast car. Plus I have a good race tyre tune for it at Aussie Tuners. But seeing as you only just got the game, and most events at the beginning require sports tyres- this is one of the fastest road cars on sports tyres in the game. Once you get past the gearbox. You can win it in the first event in the Special Hall I think, even you FTO GPX should be able to win it. Then you get a fast car scotch free 👍

Come to think of it, the Cien is a bit useless as it's overkill in most races and can't be used in the race where it would be needed the most - the Supercar Festival. The other races that require sports tyres seldom have 400+ bhp cars in them so handling and nimbleness would be my aim and that's what I did myself when I was new to this game. I bought a Lotus Elise 111R which served well in just about every race it could enter, the power isn't that high but it corners better than almost any front engined car out there. Fully tuned it can easily cause trouble to pretty much any road car the AI has to throw into the races and even hold its own against JGTC race cars on technical courses. It's a real all rounder.

Bhadra, there are threads on the most usable cars (the cars that can win the most races) The CIEN is an awesome car- end of. Want a good car that can win lots of races- buy a Monaro. Why not. It's fun and fast.

There is a car that is cheaper, easier to drive, and it's result of american and german cooperation.. well, actually two cars. 300C and Crossfire.

They're not better, faster or easier to drive. A stock Monaro outhandles those 10 fold. Don't you watch Top Gear Mr Apprentice of Master Stig. Not to mention playing the game.

better..? why? because of gigantic V8? 300C has more space, looks more agressive, and has european suspension/base chassis ( old E-merc) and Crossfire is based on SLK, and handles sweet. in addition, there's the sweet SRT6/SRT8 models.

300C also has big V8, looks less aggressive- more pimpin. The soft and crappy suspension is the one thing that was made very obvious in comparos on the 300C, and a big V8 can still handle very well thankyou- like I said, you're just biased.

nd 4 holden spd, think about the core meaning of biasedness. Have you ever seriously considered the fact that the Holden might not be the best car out there, or is the entire thing just a running joke taken way too far? You've effectively said in Post #6 that the big and heavy Monaro is a better car in every way than the Lotus Elise which is considered to be one of the best handling sports cars in the world. It doesn't take a genius to understand that there indeed is one biased person here. The creditability of your opinions is heading downhill fast, Holdens are good cars but by no means the end-of-all super vehicles you want us to believe they are. As sad as it may be.

. . .and apparently Greycap is Psychic because this is exactly what I was thinking. 👍

Going around calling people biased for not sharing your opinion's is inherently biased and hypocritical. The guy just wanted some help getting into a game that we all enjoy. Just give sound advice and stop trying to turn every thread into pissing match about Holden's nd 4 holden spd please.

It really depends on what races you want to win, how far have you made it into the license testing? When you complete license's you win cars, and most of them are pretty decent.

click my signiture and checkout the Mitshubishi Lancer Evo VIII at Aussie Tuners and this will be your next car...the suspension setup is complete and inexpesive compareed to the other cars mentioned...plus is the easiest to drive...note you dont have to but all the engine parts...thats only to make it go faster

WRONG! I have not said that the Monaro is better than the Elise- although I have seen production car championships that are normally contested between Lancers and HSVs with Elises mid-pack and struggling. That doesn't mean the HSVs handle better. And nowhere have I ever said that Holden is the best in the world- ever. Of course supercars and high-end sports cars will beat them. Bang for your buck- and speed for the size is what they're good at. Plus for hundreds of thouands of Australians they win on style too. Now the next person to call me biased towards Holden I WILL report, I'm sick of ypu guys trying to piss on them because I don't know why. Holdens are better than a lot of cars out- not the best. I'd rather own a nice roomy Commodore that still hammers hard than a tiny car which is really fast that the only thing is good for is track days.

Yeah, Holdenboy's kinda sorta right.

However, he DID say that a Monaro outhandles a Crossfire 10-fold stock vs stock...

Which shows some bias.

N4HS, you are biased to some point; maybe not as badly as some people, but it's there.

And you truly DO act like Holdens are the greatest... UNTIL you are confronted about it. Then you take it back and have it look like you didn't MEAN to imply that Holdens rock.

Holdens do rock, but they're not 100% the best out there. I would honestly think that the Monaro outhandles a Crossfire- maybe not. Monaros are very good handlers (at least for their weight) believe it or not. The only car I'd believe is much better is one with a much higher price tag. Find one in my price range that's so much better.

Hmm...

Let me think on that...

Any new Mustang, an S2000, any final-gen Camaro or Firebird... Damn near anything...

Why do I say that? The Monaro/GTO is SLOW through corners compared to most cars.

Ah, hell... Mazdaspeed 3, Mazdaspeed 6, RX-8, MX-5... Wait, that's CHEAPER. So is the Muskrat, all the Camaros/Firebombs are used and dirt cheap...

So my final answer is the S2000. It's around the same price as a Monaro. Everything else I can think of is too cheap.

So?

He told me to find a car in that pricerange that outcorners the Monaro. I did.

You must have missed the Mustang and F-body getting mentioned.

OK, none of those Japanese cars are faster than the HSV/Monaro. A Camaro uses the same engine as a Monaro, and the only Mustangs that are quicker are more expensive. Actually- so are the Camaros/Firebirds probably. Even the RX-8 is far more expensive and far slower. So come on, I'm still waiting for a car you can think of.
Plus Mustangs and Camaros are not sold in Australia, at the moment. The Monaro is GM Australia's Coupe, the Camaro is GM America's Coupe, and the Mustang- what does that sell for? What did the Camaro sell for?

Edit: I did not tell you find one that handles better- I told you to find one that's faster.

So sure that you didn't?

Fine, if you really MUST be outrun...

2008 Mustang GT. There. Happy? 25-28k USD. At least quicker than the 5.7 GTO in stock form. Cheaper by a long shot as well. So if we take the 5k + leftover to modify it, the cornering advantage grows (Against a 6.0), and the straight-line difference is reversed via forced induction (Again, against a 6.0).

And you didn't say that it had to be in the Australian market.

No, it doesn't have to be in the Australian Market. Plus the 2008 Mustang GT? That's a later model than the Monaro ever made to, but the last Monaro (not including HSVs) had 260kw and 500Nm at around $60K AUD. Now the 2008 Mustang is cheaper yes- but only makes 300hp (225kw roughly and 424Nm of torque. No Rotary Junkie- that is not as fast, even if it's a little lighter. A 2008 Holden Commodore makes 270kw and 530 Nm while only being $45k AUD. Way quicker.

Edit: Not to mention an older Clubsport- not the new E-series in that video.

Same car.

Slightly different bodywork and the driver sits on the opposite side. Mechanically they are basically the same.
