Kazaa v2

A new version of Kazaa Media Desktop is out - v2. It is way better than the normal kazaa. You have the option of changing skins in kazaa v2. And, for those people who are afraid of kazaa, there is also a Kazaa Lite v2.

Well...I have some bad news...Winamp 3 sucks!

The sound is terrible. It's all crackly and junk and I tried to adjust it and it got worse no matter what I did.

The display sucks. The skin doesn't work on the play list, leaving the playlist looking way out of place.

The new options sucked. No display editor(like in prefrences, it's not there any more).

So, I deleted 3 and I'm sticking with the best one, v2.80.

Don't bother DLing 3...

I knew that months ago. That is why I stuck with 2.80. And you forgot something, Winamp 3 takes way longer to load up than all the others. Your probably waiting a good minute or so just to get past the splash screen on start-up.

I think it should just install over the old one. I was using kazaa lite 1.72 before I updated to KMD (Kazaa Media Desktop) v2 and they were in different directories so I'm not quite sure.

I installed the KaZaA Lite version. Sucks. Now it's uninstalled.

Well yeah it sucks if your computer sucks. It runs just fine on mine.

I can play music and **** on mine but I just hate waiting for it to friggin start up, when I can have 2.80 already started up and playing a mp3 before W3 even kicks in.

another good thing about kazaa 2 is that you can download and upload at the same time without your downloads going slow as ****. i was downloading at 6.27kbs once (which is pretty good for ISDN ) while i had an upload going.

VM I'm on a new Dell with windows XP, the PC is exellent. I guess that WA3 didn't want to work with it.

And how do you change the skins on KaZaA lite 2? I DLed it off of KaZaA(lol) but I can't figure it out(the skins that is). I like V2 though, it's cool.

I hate that skin. I like Ceramic Biscuit - the one that you get when you first install kazaa 2.

Ummm...KaZaA Lite 2 doesn't have the get more skins thing...

Should I just DL the regular KaZaA 2? Is it safe enough(I mean I watch what I DL, but I don't want something getting into my PC without my permittion(trespassing by a file! There would be hell to pay)and if something gets in and screws up the PC, I will be killed.

Should I do it?

I'm using the normal Kazaa 2. I don't care about people getting into my comp. I've got nothing to hide.

If your worried about viruses, just scan your comp with a virus scanner once a day or once a week.

Although, I don't think kazaa has viruses - just spyware which doesn't really do harm to your computer.

Oh, another thing I forgot to say, thus another post, is in Kazaa Media Desktop v2, you can enable a built-in virus scanner.

Tools > Options: Traffic tab
Uncheck the box 'Disable scanning of shared files for viruses' if it is checked. If it isn't checked then the virus scanner is already enabled.

For some reason, this morning I started a DL, and it was going slow as all hell(about .30KBS) and then I tried to start DLing other stuff and everything was "more sources needed"...anway I'll DL KaZaA 2.

Maybe because there was only 1 user for the things you were downloading and they went offline.

With Kazaa 2 I've been downloading around 5.6 - 6.4kps which is pretty good for my connection.

Alright, I got KaZaA 2, it's exellent! It nearly matches Windows XP(but I wish it was silver cause that's how I have XP setup).

Pretty spiffy.

Ummm...KaZaA has like 3 viruses and a trojan and lots of spyware.
