On August 29, in the 8th round of the VLN series round 8 at Germany's Nurburgring circuit, "Gran Turismo" series producer, Kazunori Yamauchi achieved a Class win in SP8 (engine "close to production" class / Lexus IS F). Mr Yamauchi had only experienced 2 races prior to this in normal cars. In his first racing car, in his first international race, and competing on the Nurburgring for the first time, this achievement proves above all else that training within Gran Turismo is truly effective.

He also got the train back from the Nurb to his hotel. Does that mean he is working on the "Ultimate Train Simulator" next?

10m 9s for a person that is in the racing world from time, he's very slow...
i went in nordschleife one year ago with my evo 9, stock, and i did 9:10..
with my car a driver pro set a time of 8:15....
kaz with taht car that is also racing tuned set a 10m for me he is really a noob..
sorry kaz but i appreciate you in manage GT than drive a car..

Sabine Schmitz did the lap in 10m 08s in a Ford Transit, so .. ;)

To be honest I'd imagine that the Lexus could do a faster lap than that; But then again it is an endurance race so they don't push the car to the limit.
All in all, now you have a new time to match once GT5 comes along and you can give it a virtual go in the Lexus.

In the final lap of his stint, He recorded a laptime of 10 minutes, 9 seconds. This was the team's fastest lap, and is a time that is even 1 minute faster than the best time recorded by this car when it was driven in the 24 hours of Nurburgring this May. The combined efforts of Mr. Yamauchi and the other drivers brought fortune, and the team achieved the highest possible honor they could have hoped for.

It's not a racing tuned set, it's just the stock is-f with a rollcage/livery/some small tweaks. At least that's how I interpret it.

What course did they use for that race? 10.9 seems slow for the North loop, but great for the full course.
I assume they ran the Nordschleife + the GP sprint circuit combination, as the Nordschleife on its own doesn't have sufficient/any p pit facilities and I couldn't imagine them running the whole GP circuit section for a rather small event like this.

Did you drive with the GP circuit or just Nordschleife??

Yep, KY confirmed it in the new GT blog.

Words mean nothing without physical proof, otherwise you are just another whining winnie.

Haha such a moronic post... Read the article before you post rubbish

Not to mention the IS F is almost 2 tonnes, and rear wheel drive, plus his time was a minute faster than a pro driver in the same car.

Take a look at this pic – this is proof the were running on the combined track. They always do in the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft. Kaz is quite fast. Theres cars in other classes that drop way below 10 minutes on the combined circuit, but with this lexus …

Next time give him an Audi R8 LMS and see how he does! :D
