Great interview. I suppose if he doesn't think about GT5 yet, it means there will be some updates for GT5P which add more cars and more tracks. As long as we will get our private rooms sometime I'm fine with waiting for GT5 till 2011.

I envy him so much for his car collection. He's got two of the most adorable cars on the world: the GTR and the Honda S2000. What else could you ask for . He definitily must be one of the happiest man alife *gg*

Wow, 2010 for GT5. That's rather rediculous, imo. GT5 will be released in the PS3's lifespan at the same time GT4 was released in the PS2's lifespan, and that was the SECOND GT game on PS2...

This comes as quite a shock huh!? Bad bad baaaad news.. He doesn't seem intrested in GT5 at all! This is the death of the Gran Turismo series.. I might have to sell my PS3 and get a fancy computer with GTR Evolution and games like that instead!

EDIT: As a hardcore fan of GT who owns every game in the series I never thought I would feel this way. I may be over reacting but it really is bad news.. I'm starting to doubt they'll get GT5 finnished for the PS3!

I think Kaz should put his own tuned cars in gt5p. Also drifting seems play and bigger role in the game with the much better physics, so why not give us the nissan silvia S15 spec r?? my fav car.

we'll i hope there be some great games from the competition, or why not a GT-killer, cause this game was supposed to come out last year, now it's gonna be end 2010 or 2011, they have a huge fan base, but it's like they don't respect them a lot, now if they announce some great stuff for the TGS in prologue, then no problem, but i want more then new cars, give us new tracks, damages, and rain!!!!

LOL, a GT-Killer like Forza 2 ?? Really I doubt anything will come along in the next 2-3 years that can perform on a level anywhere near GT5P because of the fact that there isn't anyone like KY as dedicated to producing real driving simulators. It will also be hard for any of the big name vendors like EA to enter the driving sim market as many of them have already have invented their own racing style genres instead of taking on PD head on. PC games are another story, there are already a ton of great driving sims, but who is really willing to invest money on a killer PC upgrade just to get to the PS3's performance level within the next 2-3 yrs? I think Forza was gamings greatest shot at taking on GT head on but they (Turn10) royally messed that game up from the start.

My fav. GT alternative series has always been Burnout because that's really how deprived I am with car damage not existing in the GT world.


I think at this point PD has us by the ball joints and we should probably appreciate anything we can get from them.. until Forza 3 that is.. nah, im kidding, PD has us good.

Oh well 2010 then.. I'm sure that during that time GT5 will evolve into something beastly, i truly believe that by this time next year GT5 will be unrecongnizable from the version we have now. In the meantime there will be many many other game to keep our attention. Killzone 2, Tekken 6 and who know what else.

People are over-reacting here....this is an interview for a tuner magazine...he's not exactly going to say "well, I dont drive at all, Im focusing on making this game" because it would make for a rubbish interview.
Obviously the interview is going to focus more on the car aspect than the games aspect.

And like others have said, this isn't surprising at all, and no, Sony won't step in and do stupid things with PD because the last time that happened it lead to bad things.

I highly doubt that the PS4 will be coming out then... I read that Sony has a 10 year plan for it... and there are rumors the processor is only running at 50% or so... so it will become better overtime with updates and such.... so I think we will all have the PS3 way past 2011... Just more powerful and new functions...

He said that the ps3 was not as powerful as he thought going into creating the game. He made it sound like he made the game as good as he could, considering the ps3's abilities. If Metal gear has already tapped the ps3's potential, then there is no way that the ps3 will last as long as sony claims. But it could have just been a cop out by konami, because they couldn't figure out how to program for some of the things they wanted to implement.
Either way 2011 is ridiculous. If it really is going to take that long, the xbox 360 is going to give gt a run for there money. With race pro, forza 3, and fanatec's new 911 wheel for the 360, they may lose some fans.

I think its more likely Konami were bluffing, no way any developers worked out any console that fast, let alone the PS3...
And how is 2011 rediculous? If they haven't started on GT5 yet, that would mean it would take at least 3 years to build....which sounds about right for any large game, factoring in the fact they are focusing on GT5P right now and it would be more rediculous to expect GT5 BEFORE 2011.

... PS3 did not reach it's limits yet.. Resistance is good example. R1 then look into R2... Or look at Killzone 2. Way more going on then MGS4 and better graphics.
Xbox have allready reach it's limits. Only few things may change. With RacePro, its still only 8 cars on one screen, and it won't be as simulator as PC race07 game. It's going to be numbed down for general audience. Many people play demo in German show, and they were not impressed.

It doesnt confirm there will be no news at TGS, if PD are going to tell us anything you would think it would be at TGS. My guess is (I'm hoping) it will be something big in the form of the rest of spec 3

the only way to wait for GT5 is to forget it... ignore it... i started searching for infos about GT5 2 months ago and only after 2 months im going crazy... so 3 years more waiting and searching for infos... that will kill me... so i got to forget this game,concentrate on job and other things...

Or get an 360 is the other option... with the fanatec 911 it would be nice to race i think...

I'm a bit surprised PD are taking this long to finish GT5. Normally, the next game is just a year behind the Prologue version.

I didn't want to pick up GT5P because I didn't want GT5 spoiled. I wanted GT5 to appear fresh and new, but it looks like that's not going to happen. I guess I'll pick up a copy of this game.

That's an example of why he isn't saying when GT5 will be out...they still want to sell Prologue as the PS3 install base grows. I doubt they can wait until 2011, GT is too critical of a PS franchise, but I do think that we won't see it until sometime in 2010 (hopefully early).

Yes now is the time where GT fans need to have constructive input that will help PD to correct any issues that may arise and not worry so much about final release dates. I would much rather a game that is well done and polished rather than a rushed game with error's. PD has so many excelent feature's to include in GT5 and I'm more than happy to wait so we can have all these feature's rather then leaving them out for the sake of a release date. We will see these features come to Prologue which is where we should all test them and then make contructive and informative views on there incorporation into GT.👍

No way of telling that unless you actually played. If they showed a demo of GT5P running in STD physics with all aids on, people would say the exact same thing. For all we know Race Pro has a hardcore simulation mode inside that they haven't shown at the demos yet. I also read several previews/reviews stating that it was *very* hardcore. (but then again, that just might be the reviewer sucking at racing ) I'll be waiting for the reviews of the final version before commenting on this one. It's definitely on my wishlist (for now)

I would also like to add, before GT5 came out or even the ps3 for that matter whenever i would play GT4 i would do the following. Select a car, go to the ring make a few hot laps change to a car in the same class as the previous one, load the ghost and do another hot lap to see which was faster. Simple? yes. Fun? of course. Now if they could put the ring into GT5 i would be one happy guy. Well that and a photo mode similar to the one found in wipeout. Those two things would satisfy me immensely until the release of the full GT5.

I am sure RacePro does not have STD and PRO physics mode.. they offer traction controls, I seen so many videos with racepro, and if even guy had traction controlls on, the car acted like it not suppose to act. I know because I play Race07 and I can tell how cars there act with traction controlls, on and off.. and on Xbox version it look really ODDD. Same thing they say about PS3's Ferrari game that recently came out... Game for the HARDCORE.. yet it's not that realistic. Just saying, just because someone says its for the hardcore it does not mean it's realistic.

and 2010 is only a year away kind of way... It's not even that long. We have Prologue and we will have more updates for it. And I heard several people argue that the physics of Ferrari Challenge are actually quite realistic. Just check the Ferrari Challenge subforum right here on GTP.
