As usual... here on GTP...
A modern sequel to GT4 would have been perfect for me, it's what I imagined GT7 was going to be before it came out. Current gen physics, graphics, larger grids, the newer tuning options and body kits (widebodies etc), livery editor, ongoing DLC support and online on top of a GT4 like career mode would have been fantastic. I fail to imagine how a game like that cold have failed to deliver. Instead we got GT7.Is GT7 a bad game? I do 30 minutes around Le Mans daily to top up my credits and get a rigged lotto ticket.
Then I switch on my PS2 and load GT4. I've silvered the B National licence, and bronzed all the others. I've beaten the first 10 missions and done some beginner hall races. The AI has handed out defeat a couple of times and I'm having to fight for the win. It's what I wanted GT7 to be. Not this continuation of GT6.
And why hasn't Kaz published the road map? Why even mention it and not publish it.
Best decision you can make if you're displeased with Gran Turismo since the fifth entry in the series and have accepted it won't change enough for the better. If only I still had a PS2 and a CRT to do the same...Then I switch on my PS2 and load GT4.
To me that reads as "We wanted to find a way to keep people from selling their 100s of NSX Group B cars for infinite money all at once"When asked why it took so long, Yamauchi’s answer was rather frank: “We just didn’t have the time to do it properly”. Referencing older Gran Turismo titles, he added “We didn’t want to implement it where all cars that you buy are automatically one-third of their value when you go to sell it”, noting that “we were also creating a model where the prices of the cars vary, and there were a lot of things that we wanted to do in regards to the buying and selling of cars”.
“I wanted to put serious thought into defining what sport is,” says Yamauchi. “When we think of sport today, the things you think about are the sponsors, the ticketing and broadcasting rights, and the sales of goods and merchandise, but what I’m thinking of is something different from that”.
DeLorean Rampage LS7 swap explained. 88mph is obviously not enough.🫡He's so much in the future that he can't imagine himself speaking about the future without already being in the future. He was probably born in the future, waiting the time to pass to be born and finally start speaking about the future. I think...
Well if they're still working on it they probably don't have a release date set.I'd never have guessed. Eye opening stuff, really laid it all out there on what to expect and when.
gt7 got excellent reviews and seems to be selling really well so that's a bit unlikely.Honestly, I love Kaz and he has my utmost respect for everything he has done for this franchise. But I think he's no longer suitable to direct this company, the current way he handles it is not great and there's very little communication about the future.
Maybe it's time to retire?
That's probably because the announcements around VR2 are going to be scheduled."Unable to talk about VR2" sounds like bad news…
It's very dog-ate-my-homework-but-I-did-it-honest-sir.No, he has a roadmap, he just can't/won't share any of it, not even a couple of months ahead, with the public.
Not really, it's just more of Kaz saying nothing at all. The man feels absolutely no need to attempt to convince potential users of the strength of his game or the long term value that he intends to provide. As usual... here on GTP...
If this is all the juiciest info MULTIPLE journalists could get from Kaz at this conference COMBINED... then that's simply hilarious. This isn’t a single, one-on-one interview...
I think it's less "this is what they could get" and more "this is what Kaz, Polyphony and Sony wish to say". Which is essentially nothing - I'm sure that Sony would like Kaz to spin it in slightly more diplomatic terms but the reality seems to be that there's nothing in the near future worth bragging about. If this is all the juiciest info MULTIPLE journalists could get from Kaz at this conference COMBINED... then that's simply hilarious.
Let's be honest, the chances that they have a roadmap in the same sense that other live service games have a roadmap is low. They almost certainly have a plan, because you can't make games for a living without having some sort of plan. But it's clearly not something that can be shared with anyone outside of Polyphony, and it raises the question of whether normal people would consider what they have to be a reasonable form of forward planning. It's just hilarious, EVERY live service game I know always has a roadmap. The devs have always been communicative and transparent with it too.
Meanwhile Kaz and PD kept it close to them only. The only time they do it was back in March but even then it was because of the massive backlash lol
