Here we are at the fifth week of our muscle car photo competitions.
I'm planning to do a 10 week run of this, before it gets old. Then I may switch to European sports cars or some other class of car. So we're now at the halfway point
The other 5 finalists are MisterWeary, drifterxl, franz, Teampots, and Swissbear.
Somebody got 5th place. His shot encompasses probably 1/3 of the entire track! The background was a little bleak, though.
Mintee returns to my finals again with a fourth place finish. You would have to be pretty damn stupid not to realize what track this picture was taken on
Third spot belongs to treefingers with one of the better side profile shots I've seen. The background is blurred nicely but I can still tell that he took this at Laguna. The car is very clean.
Speedy_samurai speeds up to 2nd with the GT40 getting ready to tackle the corkscrew. Some people try to capture the steepness of this corner and fail; he let the background do the talking.
Your winner is mymkovski. The orange Cougar fit in perfectly....I love the shade of orange and the reflections on the car. I'm guessing a touch of contrast was added and it worked. The background colors are fantastic, too. This corner is unmistakeably, undeniably Laguna Seca. Congratulations!
As you can see the finalists focused on the track foremost. There were some excellent shots that may have won another week's theme, but the point was to show the individuality of this demanding track.
And it just so happens that an orange car won twice in a row, I didn't do that on purpose
