I never realized how good the Mustang's V6's were. Your engine is only 1L bigger than mine, makes nearly twice the HP, and you have gotten nearly twice the highway MPG that I get... And I'm almost positive that my car has nearly half the drag :sly:

Nice Mustang. I agree, bigger rims from the GT would look better, and as @Slash said, louvers are needed on any mustang.

Yes the new Mustang V6's are quite powerful, and it's only going up. I give it 5 years for the 5.0 to hit 500 horsepower and the V6 to hit 375. And that's not even the high end cars.

3.7 badges arrived today. :)

That's a fantastic car - so glad the next Mustang is coming to the UK, I see people's Mustangs on here and lament the lack of official right-hand drive sales.

Also, I'm so jealous of the people on here with these powerful cars so early on in their motoring lives! :P

The UK is very harsh on new drivers - insurance can be nearly £2,000 per year, even for sub 1.6L engined cars. The most powerful car I can think of among my classmates in school is a new diesel A-Class with a 1.8L engine with only 109BHP.

Nice car, now LSX swap it :sly:

JK, I do feel that you need a good vanity plate, something funny. Here are some ideas:

- WLD PNY
- GIDYUP
- LIGHT SPD
- RICETR
- SYNISTR
- ONLYAV6

Nice Mustang!

The new sixxers are pretty impressive. With some cheap boltons you can hang with the older 3V GT's. They may be down on torque, but the extra gearing really helps them make the best use of the horsepower.

I have a 2007 GT. I just returned it to stock to try to sell it, it was putting down around 300whp before. The fastest I had it up to was 140ish.

By the way, unless you have some mods done to it; the factory output of that motor is 305hp and 280lbft of torque, not 300/300.

I just wish they werne't so dman heavy. They could be a lot faster than what they are. I have to admit I was pretty disapointed to see a 140hp Mustang II walk all over one of these :(

Damn that is a shame. I got my 95 Cobra when I was 17 but I was paying almost $400 a month in insurance which is around £2800 a year. I was always broke but had an ok job and gas was cheap back then(late '90s).

An 140bhp car "walked" a car with well over double that?

Correct, though admitedly there is almost 1,000 lbs of weight difference between the two, and the II was a t top, and the 2012 V6 was a convertible so it was even heavier. I actually have the race recorded, but it was a drag (and the II actually had pizza slicer tires on it ). In turns I'm sure the newer car would have eaten it, there's no questioning that. The only reason I know the II was stock is because I talked to the owner and actually almost bought a II off him before. The car was his 17 year old kids.

I was under the impression that '11+ V6 Mustangs were high 13 sec cars with trap speeds in the very high 90s mph. Sorry I cannot see a 140hp Mustang II doing that. Hell Foxbody 5.0 LXs don't even do that.

So was I, unless this guy couldn't drive.

Lousy reaction time, but again, he's either badly botching shifts or wasn't bothering with full throttle; there's nearly four seconds between those cars' 1/4 mile times stock.

Driver mod the most important mod in all racing. I once beat a 1st gen RT-10 viper in my stock at the time 240hp Cobra because the kid driving the Viper couldn't shift correctly. @ Slash what was the final ETs/trap speed for those cars?

The guy owns both that red one and that grey one and has 17 more of them back at his house about a half hour from me.

I couldn't tell you the MPH off the top of my head, but that II ran it's time of 9.93 that particular pass, which is about what my friends 240hp GTP runs at around 65-68mph in the 1/8th. The owner of the grey II said with 265's out back the car is good for a 9 flat in the 1/8th which is somewhere around a mid 14 1/4.

That same II also beat a 225hp 302 Fox convertible and a 302 SN-95. He had 2 lenghts on the Fox and probably 3 on the SN-95. Those are also on video.

I beleive it. I watched a stock 289 '65 Coupe beat a second gen Viper RT-10 and the Mustang had heavy wheelpsin. Driver is important.

17!!! Man you have to get one from him. Reminds me of a guy down the street from my childhood home. He had 5-6 '60s Falcons in his driveway and backyard. I used to jokingly comment when going by "its not fair, he has 6 and I have none" LOL

Yup he has 17 complete cars and enough parts to buld a few more. I have his number saved in my phone. I passed up a clean Mach 1 from him. He was going to give me an epic deal. New hood (2 hoods), new passenger door, floorboard sheetmetal (only rust was a quarter size hole in the passenger floor), and he was pulling the V6 out and was going to drop in a 351/auto for me. All for $2,000.

He still has it. I should have bought it when I had the money. :/

So, it's been a while since I've made any updates here.

I have to start off with bad news, actually.

About a month ago, I was driving home on a rainy evening when I came upon a shopping trolley in the middle of a tight corner. The terrain on both sides of the road was very dangerous and banked; I decided to hit the cart rather than potentially flip the whole car.

Damage was actually very light. Only minor scratches and a small dent to the hood.

We chose to only fix the hood, as I was able to use polish to almost completely restore the bumper.

Sadly, since the hood is made of aluminum, repairs were expensive. Apparently, if the dent had been any bigger, the whole hood would've needed replacing; $1500.

Instead, it was still a smaller (but still hefty) $675.

Just before the accident, I purchased a black pony emblem cover as well. I think it looks really cool.

Two days ago, the car came out of the shop, looking good as new.

Today, I was lucky to get what I had ordered when the car went into the shop; hash stripes.

I had never worked with vinyl before. I had never done anything like this. So, applying these myself made me extremely nervous.

I am happy to report though, that the result was great.

Thankfully, I did my research before applying. The secret was using a soapy-water solution on the car and on the vinyl itself. This allowed for me to position the stripes, even while the adhesive side of the vinyl was against the fender.

Only 1 small air bubble that isn't even visually noticeable. If it begins to bother me, I bought pins so as to solve the issue. But it is so small that I doubt it will be an issue.

I have two more things coming soon. One of them is BIG and I'm super excited about it. I can't wait to show you all!

Get dem louvers! :P
My parents won't let me since they think that they're dangerous by "limiting rear visibility." Which, to their credit, is somewhat true. Although, I can't really see anything out of those windows anyways.

That's a crock. When you put them on you can see right through them like they aren't there. Take it from someone who's been around them.

Looks good, I've been thinking of getting those same decals on my bird.

Probably only you notice it

Oh, I meant side window louvers. Rear window louvers are a must when I get the money. They don't hurt vision at all.

I agree, I doubt anybody but me would ever notice it.

As for the turbo, no. Sadly, I can't afford something like that.

But, I will say that it WILL increase power to a degree.

The side windows are pointless. A lot of Mustangs don't even have them. So don't let them feed you that line of 🤬.

So, I have some great news.

I don't know how/why, because I'm no expert with vinyl. But overnight, the few bubbles and wrinkles that were on the car have vanished.

It's almost as if the vinyl contracted slightly during the night.

The upside of this is that it now literally looks perfect, no bubbles or ripples or anything.
