As I am feeling a little slighted after seeing which cars the Japanese version did not get, I am wondering if the Korean version would play on my Japanese PS2. Anyone know for certain either way? thanks.

Yes, you can be certain that it will play, as the Korean discs have the same region encoding as the Japanese and Chinese versions.
The Korean version of Prologue was the best of the NTSC releases …it appears that this will be repeated with the full game.

Incidentally, although I will be purchasing the PAL release, I have ordered the Korean version as my Japanese PS2 generally gets more use. Hence, although the Korean exclusive vehicles are a bonus, my main objective is based on convenience…oh, I’m also eager to behold the 905 and XJR-9 in 1080i. Hmm, it’s almost time to retire the Japanese version that restored my sanity on Dec 30. ;)

You are a gentleman and a scholar. Now, how do I get my hands on it? I looked on lik-sang but it wasn't listed anywhere? Can you help out a fellow traveller on the high-speed road of life one more time?

In Europe (well the UK) we get the IS200 and the IS300. The IS200 has a 2 litre 6 cylinder motor and the IS300 has a 3 litre 6 cyliner (I presume the non-turbo engine from the Supra). Then there is the Japanese only RS200 (?) which has a more powerful 4 cylinder engine. They called that an IS200 (J) in the American version of the game.

I pre-ordered the Korean version from Play Asia the other night.

why do they do that in every version new cars??? can't all the versions have all cars, they should but out add on cars so u can update the game !!!

they could hook up a website where you can buy cars with your $$$ from the game save that would be kool ...

i miss the alpina b12 850 bmw :guilty:

My Korean GT4 arrived yesterday. That pretty much completes the "set" (Japanese, American, Pal and now Korean).

I have now done the license tests for the third time (Japanese, American and now Korean), Got one gold so far the A license test at the High Speed Ring with the Elise. Gold at the first attempt (managed Gold in the American version as well). I even managed Silver at Chamonix (just missed Gold I think) on the S license (I don't like that course.

I think it must be the definitive version of the game. There is a lot of Korean script but more English than the Japanese version. At least the car names are in English.

I have so far bought the Lexus IS200 Racer (tunes to 512 HP), Hyundai Tiburon Turbulence and the Hyundai Click Type R. The other Hyundai is a prize car (another modified prize list then). I will post pictures of the three I have sometime over the weekend.

You get the choice of units which is good.

The used car sequence is different again... of course. The third time low mileage cars appeared there was a nice Calypso Red Lotus Esprit V8 GT there. Up to Day 158 so far.

I don't suppose anyone knows of a site for Korean Action Replay codes?

As an update. I have three of the four new cars pictured on this page at my Web site:

http://www.rogs.dial.pipex.com/PhotoMode4.htm

Also for the fans of the Sprinter Trueno SS Version that particular model appears as a low mileage example (finally) on the Korean version.

I am on Day 225 and have 7 low mileage cars to buy including a Mercedes Benz SL500 and a Golf IV GTi. The low mileage cars are not bad so far. There are some good ones there occasionally.
