Yes, and replied. But that's a bit different.

D*mmit!
Something tells me some politician is going to use this as a way to make a point how videogames destroy our youth.

holy cow why the hell would you,

A) Quit your job for a game!?
B) Play for 3 days!!
C) Not tell his family!?

dedication on a bad level there...

Good points. But I'd say dedication to the wrong thing, not level. But that's splitting hairs.

 Thats just sad.

It'd had been funnier if he was shot and killed while playing a battle simulation game. Talk about realistic.

Thats just harsh.

A dude died whilst doing the thing he loved, gaming, although it was way too far still give him some kind of respect.

I remember reading a similar article a while back, I guess this happens pretty often. What an idiot.

He died from a case of severe stupidity.

If it wasn't for this he probably would have died from picking his nose for too long.

he could have also picked his ass so much he suffered toxic shock...dude was destined to die by some bizzar means . his purpose in life is seems was to be an example to others as to what not to do . And of course entertainment on the internet .

About three years ago a guy posted on a MechWarrior 4 forum about a similar thing he did. Of course, he survived.

He said he played MW4 online for about 42 hours straight, fueled by super-strong coffee and a true mania for the game. He developed heart palpitations, shortness of breath, and dizziness, and called a friend for help, who took him to an emergency room. They recommended that he get some sleep, and lay off the killer coffee.

Lots of people get carried away by these damned games. The Korean victim was just an extreme example of what can happen.

It actually looks like they had identical situations. Just that the MechWarrior guy got help before it was too late.

This guy deserves a Darwin Award, along with the African dude that got blown up by his own mines that he was going to use against elephants.

it sucks, but yeah atleast he died doing something he probably enjoyed. i heard about a kid who was getting so angry on xbox live (like screaming at people and etc.) he became temporarily paralyzed, but it was probably just a rumor <8- \
man, i hate starcraft, my brother still plays it for some reason. why would you risk your life to push the gaming envelope? its not like people will remember him as the hero that played game for 40+ hours, he will be remembered as that idiot that died from playing too much.

What a wimpy man! He's probably have been playing games, way too much.

It's possible this guy was suicidal. 50 hours is obviously abnormal. He took breaks for naps and stuff, it didn't mention food breaks or anything. How do you NOT have anything better to do for 50 hours straight... it would worry me if I knew a dude like that.

I'm sure he was eating. He could've snacked while he played? My guess is he probably lacked exercises, and his heart was in poor condition.

I think I've come close with the Dragon Quest V(SNES :sly: ) and GT3...... Not literally 50 hours straight, but close.

This is old, every once in a while you hear about people getting so hooked on MMORPGs that they play for obscene amounts of time and die of a variety of causes.

In one Asian country(China I think), they outlawed games that involved PvP(Player vs. Player) for people under a certain age, which I think was 18).
