Okay, so it's time for another night of fun racing at the Laguna Seca!

As always everyone is welcome - especially newer drivers. Driving aids are allowed.

You will be racing a series of short races - 3 laps of the Laguna Seca Circuit on Monday 4 April at 9.00pm GMT (NB: NEW TIME!). There will also be a practice race session on Sunday 27th March at 9pm GMT (in a different car than the one we will be racing Monday). All GTP members are welcome to this.

The room opens on Monday at 8.30pm for practise/qualifying.

The race will be held in my lounge, so add me if you haven't done so already. My PSN nick is despawn, and please write Fun Racers in the subject.

Please do NOT join the room before 8.30 PM, as this might cause problems in the setup. And do remember to clear network cache and restart your PS3 before joining.

You will not know what car you are racing until you join the room, though I can tell you it won't be an uncontrollable monster. Laguna Seca is quite a technical track, so the car will be manageable. Last time we raced in a FR, this time it will either be a FF or 4WD (not at the PS3 atm, gotta check the options before I decide).

The car will be ready to pick up in the garage at 8.30pm. All you need to do is choose the color and tyres.

There will be no points awarded, but there will be a prize car to the winner. The prize car will be announced later. Last week it was a Mercedes-Benz SLK 230 Kompressor '98 straight out of the UCD with a greenish paint: Vivanitgrün.

Please try to drive as clean as possible. But don't be too worried about the odd bump, eh?

Banter while driving is more than welcome, so get a headset.

Please post below if you are interested, even if you are already a member of the club, and/or have raced before. A few is good but the more the merrier.

Before entering the host lounge...launch the game and go into clear system cache in the main options...then turn off the PS3...switch on and go online before you launch the game again...then head to the host lounge...the host to do this procedure before setting up lounge.

Do not enter the host's lounge before the start time as the host may not be there and we lose control of the room and settings...

Sounds great, Kwaka. I still regret giving DJ the Mercedes this week. And yesterday I saw a very similar car - not SLK 230, but CLK 320 - in the exact same colour. What an awful, but very 90s, colour that green really is.

I'll update the list of participants later when I find my mac under all the mess I've left around the living room.

Thought I'd like to join in community by getting involved.

I'll add you as a friend tonight hopefully.
I'd like to register to play with you guys but I can't guarantee that I will be able too join that early as I put my kids to bed around that time.

So if its ok that I join a little late........maybe you could throw me in there.
If you get enough people go ahead and bump me out.

I was checking the old thread and it didn't look like you filled the room so I thought I'd take my chances.

After watching you disappear into the distance many times before bren....I have to admit closing down a 9 second gap to 4 in the space of 2 laps then watching you limp into the pit lane gave me great satisfaction last week....it's a shame you d/c towards the end because there was a tight finish on the cards....

Welcome to the fun racers...but you may want to check your time zone cos putting your kids to bed around midday sounds a tad early....:)

hahahaha..yaaa.........i read GMT as "general mountain time" which is an hour ahead of "pacific" time, then i noticed you guys where in Norway...

is the "GMT" your time over there? what does it stand for?

i gotta figure out the time difference.
 
I found my tyres were paying the price for trying to keep that gap from you DJ and I did kinda pit a little too hard trying to maintain what little gap I had left........hit the wall lol

Yeah, it was a shame with the d/c, still these things happen.

I'll have the "Paddywagon" under starters orders for Monday :cheers:
 
9.00pm GMT and 3 laps races... I like that, I will be there unless I have a huge amount of work or exams.

I might have a chance at not coming in dead last :)

Im In! looking forward to this week as I had connection isssues last week, the withdrawl symptoms are killing me :D

I love the vids to set the mood also.

On a totally unrelated note, I was skeptical to see what I posted last night as my wallet was a lot lighter after going to the bar...I was desperately hoping I didnt post anything that required me to do a self face palm :)

GMT = Greenwich Mean Time. In the first post the time/dates are links, click them and find your nearest city to see what time it will be.
