LCC Rocket Super Lap

When GT car settings made any sense? :D

What you say makes sense, but this car in game has more grip when you exit the curve with full ballast and as much power as possible, top speed is higher too.
Then simply move the ballast forwards slightly to get the balance back ;)

When I began to make the setup I was setting the ballast at 0% position but the car didn't turn very well, I was moving the ballast to the back and the car was coasting much better, at the same time I was realizing the car had more grip at the exit of the curve, but I couldn't place the ballast beyond 30% because I was struggling with the oversteer (even brakes & throttle overlapping), I think the way to go is 200 kgs @ 50% due to the grip but I can't handle that, no matter what I change in the suspension.
I'll try what you suggest 👍 , but I guess I'll have grip troubles at the exit of the curve.

Ah, I see... so the extra weight at the back helps exit traction (like in a 911).

Then it may make sense not to take the extra front end grip 👍

Mmmmm, maybe there are different physice for controllers, if I set a higher rear spring rate I'll have more oversteer.

I use a controller and your tune works fine for me. I don't think there is a big, if any, differance in physics wheel vs controler to explain the car spinning out. I think you hit the nail when saying tunes are a personal preference, per your example of Samaria's tune.

And placing 200kg ballast at very specific 28% is a fine balance between grip, handling and PP relation I might add.

GTP_CargoRatt's tune does this and it's something I've just learnt. If you place 1% more to the back you lose 1PP because you're deemed to have a TRACTION advantage. Next point this happens is at 46% and beyond so 45% is where you wana stop to save that precious 1PP but at this stage it has far too much oversteer.

I've always wondered why placing ballast too far back sometimes I'd lose a PP or two I initially had thought too much rotation is deemed too advantageous but then it's a personal preference and how a system dare make a judgment like that. But it's not, because you'd have a traction advantage. I guess 200kg at the very front of Civic you also get penalised?

Samurai seems to have chosen to stick with 50% back ballast for most traction. To drive a car like that he must have a right foot of Ayrton Senna I have no idea where he had bought that from:lol: He indeed drives like he does.

However it's one hell of a compromise you get forced to settle at 15%, 28% or 45% in the name of saving/gaining "one" precious PP that's worth so little, in this case it's only 1 or 2 HP.

edit: BTW, I did this event with semi-racing exhaust and it sounds awesome, bit like early 90's F1 V12 Ferrari:tup:

Quick update 1 day left ..

@TRL_SAMURAI @CRANK_U1
@eclipsee @SAVAGE916 and the rest if the top ten, great driving guys, think there is anything left in this little car?
Thanks Otaliema, normally I concentrate on the non-tuning events but thought I may learn a thing or two by tuning and certainly have. I should imagine a little more could be squeezed from the car but once ya grip is setup well enough everything else is just feel, it seems to me?

I think you're right about that, feel, line and determination.

Thanks everyone for all the positive comments and kind words. it really means a lot. I feel good that I was able to help out in this event by posting a tune that was able to help those that used it. Congrats on the lap times everyone, a job well done by all. Peace, and as always, stay fast my friends.

You do know you can turn them off when your racing?
I press up on the controller and hey presto all gone, press again and all back.
Usually turn off on corners etc.

That's true, but they come back on again, seemingly at random.

I had ago with sumurai's tune without srf and did well, probably got my 'understeer' and 'oversteer' muddled up, was having a bad day or drunk, maybe both 🤬

You're correct though, tunes are a very personal thing, if I could tune I'd be a top 10 driver ;)

Hi guys, been lurking here for a couple years and thought it was finally time to join and thank everyone for sharing their tunes, Cargo, Crank, ecplisee, etc. I've enjoyed this TT the most on GT6 so far. I was in first place for like, oh the first 10 minutes after it was released lol . Hit the wall at 2:01, wish I had spent more time with it. It has really helped my driving style using the setups of the top guys and being able to watch the replays to learn how to get the most from them. Looking forward to competing with you guys in the future. Cheers  :gtpflag:

Well I gave it one last go, and after 45 minutes, took off about 7 tenths from my time to a 1:58.9. I've left about 7 tenths to about a second out there, but I've been distracted too much.

@CRANK_U1 Sick time with the DS3! I know how it feels to get 2nd place with one as well. It's a good feeling, isn't it? :)

I used your setup, but I could'nt handle the oversteer like you did, not even close! after some curses and throwing things around i added some rear toe-in (like CRANK_U1) and the car just magically became driveable again^^ :)

AS I stated the other day I have now removed a bunch of people from my friends list so as to get rid of the blue lines etc.
What a difference it makes, so much more enjoyable being able to see the road ahead when entering curves.
So if you've been deleted it's only because you are too FAST, at least some of the time ha ha.

An hour to go and taken off a few tenths, down to 2:03.4 (#452) It really helps being able to see all the track all the time.

Sorry about the double post, I didn't see the one above and can't see how to remove this one.

Had been 3 tenths up in late stages so a high 2:02 was possible. Anyway.

Thanks for the tip, I added 0.10 rear toe, that helped to reach 35% position at full ballast and the car still was controllable, I had possibilities to reach the top spot but I ran out of time.

Thanks for the help. The fast guys posting their tunes helped make it fun. I have always been frustrated when I could not come close to the leaders and did not know what would make the car faster. I did end up mutating CargoRat's and Eclipse's tunes to get a car I could handle to the tune of 201.656. Very good for me! Thanks again for all the fun.

Yeah, I was a bit late there... sry :(
Next time tho!! :)

Just seeing this for the first time about CargoRatt and what someone said about him and I think it's BS, we are all here to have fun and share our tunes. I for one like CargoRatt's tunes 👍 been using them since GT5. If I can get Gold with a little help from my friends here , then whoever you are saying bad things about other Tuners just take your GT6 and go play with yourself 👎 and stay off these boards and go do this :banghead:. We don't need negative vibes here. No one should be knocking anybody else's tunes or the way they drive or if they use aids or not. :gtpflag:

You know you can just press the up directional button to remove all ghosts/lines?
