Left-handers, get in here!

When eating with a knife and fork, the fork goes in your left and knife in your right no matter what your favored hand is.

For me it's the other way round. Most members of my family hold the knife in the left hand and the fork in the right, even though most of them are right-handed.

Can the thread title be changed to "Left-handers and monkey toed mods, get in here!" ;)

Just for the record I'm not left handed but do eat with my knife and fork the wrong way round...so I best get out of here...

GJ Famine:cheers:

Yes, talking about forks and knives: our local customs require us to eat with our right hand; so everyone flips their knife and fork before eating, if there are any:D

Right-handers write our Tana script with their books kept at a slant, the text itself also gained a slant to make it easier for Rightys.

Us Leftys can keep it straight;)

Some of my teachers also forced me to try and write with my write hand, when I was very young. Thankfully, they didn't keep at it for too long:D

As for footing, I can use both of them equally. I am left eyed though:S

Lefty. My sister, step mom, step sister, brother in law, wedding officiant are all lefties too. I can tie shoes easily, use scissors and a mouse just fine. I play the bass, but couldnt fathom using a left handed bass. It would mean my right hand would have to be more coordinated. Throw and hit things with my left hand, but I am able to swing right handed for golf and baseball - it just doesnt feel as comfortable. Right footed. Left eyed.

I've always thought being left handed made me approach tasks differently than other people. "I know it can be done this way, but I want to find another way."

You can't tie shoelaces? And what do you do, only buy the the ones with stickers?

I get someone else to tie them when I first by them, then I just leave them tied.

Slide foot in, slide foot out!

I work with two other left handers as well and all three of us cant use a mouse left handed to save our lives.
That's quite interesting seeing that I'm mostly right handed (left eyed and left eared though) but have no major trouble using a mouse - one with right handed buttons at that - with my left hand. Also, if I have to ride a bike or drive a car with only one hand on the bar/wheel it'd better be the left one or I'll seriously risk ending up in the ditch on a straight road.

I write with my left, but I'm pretty much right handed for everything else. I play guitar right handed too. My writing is attrocious, but still better than I can manage with my right hand.

The only thing I've ever had any real difficulty with is spreading butter/jam etc... I'm 23 and still have difficulties with that.

I do mostly everything with my right hand. But I do oddball stuff with my left; basketball, frisbee, dealing cards. And during stressful points I have no problem fiercely using my DFP with only my left while my right stabilizes the wobbly table on which it sits.

I'm right handed, I write with my right hand, throw and kick with my left hand, but I do a lot of things "left".

I hold my knife in my left hand, shoot (hockey) left, golf left, bat left, deal cards with my left hand, hold a shovel/broom/rake "left".

I shoot guns right though.

I'm the only left handed person at my family and at my workplace. It's really hard to listen "because you're left handed, you must do this way" every time i make a specific work task with tools

I play Bass Guitar Left Handed and Fork in Right Knife in Left. I can also use hand tools (screwdriver / saw) with either. Mainly Right but will change to left if getting tired.

Left-side
Kick with left
Write/Draw with left.

Right-Side
Throw an (American)Football with right and sometimes left.
When I'm the batter in Baseball I hold the bat like a right person.

I'm stronger with my left, but I feel stronger with my right when I arm wrestle.(I can tell I'm stronger with my left because my biceps are bigger)
Anything else I didn't, say I use left.

Lefty reporting in. I was known as smudges in grade 3 because my writing was always smudged by my hand.

i'm ambidextrous i write with my left but can also sign my name almost the same with my right. i kick and throw primarily with my right but also throw and kick with my left. Swing the baseball bat and hockey stick left-handed but can also do it right handed. I know im left handed naturally cause that what feels most comfortable.

i have a friend who is right handed but for some reason plays a guitar backwards left handed .

Left here. Do most things with my left but punch with my right. Two of my sisters are also lefties but neither of my parents are.
It's great to know I'm not the only cursed person on this site.

Only things I really do with my left hand are write, punch, play pool and wan..... won't finish that. Other then that i'm mostly right handed. Golf, bat, bowl, kick, etc with my right leg, although i'm more accurate with my left. Most of my right handedness comes from my brothers I believe. I learnt to play sports with them thus bringing about my right handedness to a degree.

I'm right handed but I'm using my left hand right now because of my tennis ellebow.

So at the moment I'm left handed. Not when I'm typing though.

I'm left handed. For some reason I find doing things like shooting, playing violin, guitar, and some other things in a normally right handed position. For some reason it feels a lot more comfortable having my left as the guide or fingerboard hand.

Lefty for writing, eating, beer, opening doors, ping pong, pipe...
Righty for most sports, computer mouse, lighter..
Bothy for most hand tools, hammer, shovel, ax, window mop/squeegee, 🤬...

:embarrassed:

I have 7 brothers and sisters, 6 of which are left handed. My Dad is left handed, my mother was ambi. Half of my considered "best friend" are also left handed. It's all really weird.

My nose runs at some point of every day of my life, a lot each day as a child. That combined with writing in school made for some killer lead mustaches.

i am the only left handed person in my family

i write left and hold my fork in the left

but everything else i do right handed

^ How in the world did that happen? :odd:

Anyways, I've been joined by another lefty in my new Grade 12 class (who happens to be a pretty girl :sly:)

High Five (with left hand) to all those lefties out there. Being the only leftie in my Tech class, I have nearly cut my hand off with a saw and drilled a hole through my hand before now.

Im the only lefthander
In my family. I use left hand for everything. I also had trouble tying my shoes until 8 because i was taught by righthanders...
