MONSTAR-1
Excuse me?
All I said was understeer is faster. Which is correct. Slight understeer that is. Also I don't appreciate you saying this in here. If you got beef we me you can PM me.

On another note I've been driving cars probably longer than you have been a live so don't give me your BS mate. And don't go calling me a troll either. I can post where ever the hell I want.

You asked me for a race the other day so I opened a room and then you just leave saying your brother wants to play. I could have got dirty on you for that lame axx excuse but gave you the benefit of the doubt.

If you want to race to settle this bring your over steering R1 and I'll use my understeering WRX and then you will see. Until then back off.

Ok dude, what's your problem? You were nice at 1st but now your just being a jerk. Why attitude? And I was talking about that trialmountain dude. Why would I start beefing with you when I didn't say anything bad to ya?

Hi, guys! I've decided that my FF to this season its going to be my also daily drive, my mighty R53. Saddly, because of last update from PD, I can't access my LSD settings and fine tune it. Now I have to think if I should get another car (I have some FF's tuned to 450pp) or simply wait from next PD update and fix this bug.:grumpy:

Stick with it! Hopefully PD will get the fix soon! I also kinda used my daily drive on Season 1 and the pre-season. Hehe...

Also, if you have your battles at night/rain, can you indicate it as well. So we can have some stats, so I can use the stats for analysis to improve LotS.

I'd be interested in knowing more of your opinion on this and what facts support your theory as I've just finished reading Skip Barber's Going Faster! (a great read btw) and they seemed to indicate that the best setup was rather neutral/slight oversteer. That would seem to be even more true with street radials as they reach their peak coefficient of friction at higher slip angles than racing slicks. They mentioned that you should be looking for the slide that occurs just before drifting/oversteer which would make you lose quite a good amount of traction. I'm just being curious as I've just entered the Formula SAE competition so I'll need to learn as much as I can on race car dynamics. I can see how slight understeer would be easier to control and thus the driver could be more consistent/have a faster average lap time which is what you usually want in races but still, wouldn't slight oversteer hold more potential if we're talking about a time attack or if the driver has a lot of experience?

/off-topic

Looking forward to racing you guys soon, even though I won't have much free time
Hopefully I'll make Mr. Yamanouchi proud!

Yea your right on a way. Ideally you want to lose traction ever so slightly. And when on edge like that you are generally understeering because once you start oversteering you start to lose time. Plus you can't drive every lap like that as it's too hard. F1 drivers can drive like that for longer periods because they are the very elite of a driver. But the likes of touring car driver can drive like this but not for as many laps in a row. This is what separates the greats from the rest.
Facts are out there. You just have to find them. Also it's driver preference as to how they like there car set up. You will find most will want slight understeer as it makes the car more predictable and if you want to drive fast that's what you need in a car.

That book you read sounds like a good read. I'll check it out.

Well, after one and a half laps of practice, I thought I was ready for the race. My lack of track knowledge didn't help me, making me understeer more than on the practice lap. Like he said, he passed me and got the win. I'm still in love with my FD2 Civic though. xD
Good luck on the season MONSTAR ( not that you need it xD ).

If you guys don't mind, could you post the time zones / hours you're available?

I am (usually) available to race 8:00am EST (Canada) until around 3:00pm EST. And then again usually around 10:00pm EST to w/e time in the night.

I haven't had a match yet (nor do I have a home course at the moment). Add my PSN and we can setup a match. Hopefully I'll be free around the hours that I've posted :)

Yea, I noticed this too right after the update. Luckily I had 4 different versions of the dc5 (same model) at different PP levels, lol. I don't think I would have been able to tune the car otherwise.

Anyone has a room open???
I will be online prob in an hour or so.
Gotta find a car for the FF chalange and beat the hell out of you guys :sly:

Great track you made Vasho. Mind if I use it for my home track? Can I download it off you?

If you are talking about the track Sidewinder Touge which i hosted today - before i unfortunately had to leave - of course.
I think i am sharing it. I will check later when i get online.
And i did not make the Track. It was a track created for the GTTC Tournament.
And why should i mind that you would make it your home course - lol.
I like the track very much and i am happy you like it as well.

My time is pretty standard which is about 10pm to 12am (GMT +8). There's a set of people which I see online during that time almost every night.

And I should have all the current rivals on my PSN friends list. If I missed anyone out, let me know.

Yeah, we had some pretty good side by side battle and pretty clean too... Real good race that time. That helped my side by side racing experience more. 5/5 Battle Rating.

Wanted to join up real bad but been working on 2 AE86s and now all of a sudden its FF :(
Guess I'll have to wait. Really wanted to get better at Touge racing really need some practice.

Stavingo
Wait, so we can't tune the LSD anymore? Weird.

I've read that's it's only FF cars which is strange as it's right when we start S2 lol.
Havnt tried on AWD, mr or FR.

You can still join the rooms. A lot of us run on different drivetrains. Only the Registered LotS Players with FF battles are recorded. We do hang around quite a bit as well when not battling.

Wow, how concidental.

It's a conspiracy!

You guys in any rooms right now for the FR 450PP range?

Since i don't have internet strong enough to race online in my new
apartment i've been spending some time tuning cars.
Oddly enough, i haven't been running any FF vehicles so
I wouldn't know about not being able to tune the LSD.
Though FRs and 4WDs have no issue at all.

Funny (kinda) story:

Lan Evo III GSR '95 (Kyoichi Sudo's)
353hp/1058kg/489PP

Impreza Coupe WRX TypeR STi Version VI '99 (Bunta Fujuwara's)
300hp/1095kg/480PP

After about 2-3 hours of running these two cars at Deep Forest
and fine-tuning them and trying out some unorthodox setups
trying to get some consistent lap times i have only this to say:

How in the world is Bunta's car so damn fast with
>50hp less and 40kg more than the Lan Evo?!!

In the end the fastest laps i ran for both cars were 0:00.001 apart.
Can you guess which was faster?

1:28.127
1:28.128

PS: I use DS3, so i wouldn't be surprised if any of y'all are capable
of getting much faster times with either cars using a wheel.

For the record, Bunta's car is NOT the 22b. It is the Impreza Coupe WRX TypeR STi Version V '98
