This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:
It could indeed be released with the Lego Racers name, or just Lego Drive if it's more exploration than circuit racing, hopefully not 'Lego 2K Drive', that's very corporate.Lego Racers reboot, except you buy Brick Sets as DLC or Season Passes. Calling it now.
Yes.Am I seeing things or is that the McLaren Vision GT on the cover?
Kinda - it's the Solus GT, right?Am I seeing things or is that the McLaren Vision GT on the cover?
I think, given that there's already at least one post-launch DLC revealed and three car packs, nobody would be surprised if there's literally individually sold LEGO bricks either in-game for cash (which you can buy via MTX) or as paid add-ons.While I think this is a cool concept I can't get behind it with 2K at the helm. It will be so riddled with microtransactions that it will ruin the experience. 2K managed to do this with its NBA, golf, and wrestling game so I have no doubt it'll do the same to its Lego game.
a shame as it does look funLego 2K Drive features an in-game store, Unkie’s Emporium, where players can acquire optional items including new vehicles, minifigures and more. There are two types of items in the store, ones that can be purchased using Brickbux earned through playing, or ones that can be purchased using coins obtained through a real currency purchase
oh wonderful (from a preview on another site)
a shame as it does look fun
Couldn't agree more. This game seems to want to become the definition of 'predatory'. Can guarantee that you'll be able to buy access to various brick types you'd have to otherwise unlock as well.Reading some other previews it does seem like there is a heavy push of the MTX. Either have them and make the game free-to-play, or ditch them and charge full price. Not both. I'm out on this one.
